I haven't used the bags yet but they do feel thicker than other compostable trash bags I've purchased, significantly thicker. I will update the review later if I don't think they are a quality product. One thing I was really impressed with is the item was delivered without putting the item in another box, the address stamp was attached to the box the item was in, this was really impressive to me, one peeve I have is sellers using unnecessary plastic filling for an overstuffed box (or even using plastic filling instead of paper!) or wasting materials when it was unnecessary. ... show more

As compostable garbage bags go, these are the sturdiest I’ve tried. They fit a standard kitchen size bin. Generally they’re fine, but the tie strips do tend to rip out as you’re tying it . Be careful not to over stuff the garbage and you’ll be fine!

I've been using these for a few months, I think I ordered 3 boxes total to test them out. They are a great option for eco conscious person. They do dissolve super easily though and left me with a huge mess a few times if I forgot to take the trash out. Some advice with these bags *DO NOT PUT WET THINGS IN THIS BAG! It will leave you with a dissolved bag and a mess in your trash can and floor... *THROW TRASH OUT WHEN THE BAG IS ABOUT 75% FULL! THE STRINGS BREAK EASILY ... show more

    • Prepare for easy tears.

You know, I'm all about environmentally friendly upgrades to everyday life items...but these trash bags....ugh. First of all, they don't fit very nicely around the top of the trash can, I have to stretch (very carefully as not to accidentally rip or tear or poke a hole in the bag while stretching it just to go around the top of the can. Secondly, don't fill it too full....these bags have broke pulling them out of the trash can and even en-route to the dumpster - the bottom or side will straight up tear and ruin all your plans for a quick 'let's take the trash out'. I have tried double-bagging these, but again, they tear so easily that half the time one of the two bags rips while I'm trying to get it in the dang can! While these may be better for the environment, they're DEFINITELY not better on your wallet. You're paying more thinking you're helping the earth, but you're using DOUBLE the product 90% of the time. Don't waste your money... or maybe make sure you have a smaller trash can? I won't be buying these again. ... show more

I've been using these bags for a while now, mainly the kitchen and 4 gallon bags for kitchen trash and cat litter respectively. I do use the baggies too but not quite as frequently. For a home-compostable product and product promised to break down in commercial landfills, I'm not aware of any other alternative. Those two things also make this a pretty eco-friendly product. The only reasons I dock a star are 1) They are not as durable as regular plastic bags. This is not a surprise but is what it is. The kitchen drawstrings almost always break. If the bag is light or not full, not a problem but then the bag isn't fully utilized which leads me to my next point. They're expensive. In the grand scheme, they're not terribly expensive but compared to normal plastic options, these are like 4x the price. A not necessarily negative note: If any wet trash sits in a bag for a certain period of time, maybe a week or so, the bags start to decompose so they must stay dry or be discarded within a few days. I have lifted bags out of receptacles multiple times to find holes have 'melted' through the bioplastic and the bags have started degrading already. Still, I support the company for providing a product of this nature. Hopefully quality will continue to go up, and price will go down. Side note: I have contacted customer services regarding what I thought was an issue (which wasn't) and they were very responsive and detailed. ... show more
