My kid's drum set is in the basement, which is unfinished with a rock foundation and concrete floor. It's an older house, so not the best for soundproofing. I put these on the ceiling (upstairs floor boards) and on the walls around the drums. This has helped dampen the sound and vibration quite a bit. These were great. I have a few different manufacturers and these are pretty solid. They're rigid and the shapes are clean. There's no warping or bent edges. The adhesive backing is very strong. No these panels won't stop all noise, but they help dampen a lot of make a big difference if you know what you're doing with them and cover enough of the wall.

These acoustic panels are well designed and made. They look and feel like thick, hard felt, which is good for acoustic dampening. They have angled troughs and edges, which look nice and, when oriented with points up and down, create a two-dimensional image of a cube (very nice); however, because of the trough/cube design, you will almost certainly want to orient these with the points at the top and bottom, not with the edges horizontal to the floor (if you want the panels to go to the floor or ceiling with the points up and down, you will need to cut panels to fit the open spaces at the floor or ceiling -- which should be easy with a box cutter, though). Clarifying the dimensions: the panels I received are 5/16" (7 mm) thick; the farthest distance between two points is 11 11/16" (29.7 cm); and the distance between parallel edges is 10 5/16" (26.2 cm). I'm a composer, and plan to mount these on cardboard or some other art store mounting board, to use as a moveable acoustic dampening panel for recording. I'm currently recording some grand piano pieces, and need something like this to position in various places around the room to dampen or divert acoustic reflections (which can make the sound too blurry if not fine tuned right). ... show more

These are too thin and hard to actually function as described. They do not soundproof, have little to no discernible sound deadening, and have a horribly strong odor (I had to air them out for a day in my open garage before I could bring them inside). These are best used as a decoration only.

These work really well at deadening my room. The adhesive is strong, which is needed because I mounted these on my ceiling and I can't have them falling off in the middle of a streaming session. The design that's "carved" into them is stylish and looks great, and with four tiles in each of the three colors, I can create a pattern that's interesting and effective. These panels look good however they are not “white, light gray, and dark gray” as mentioned in the listing. Instead they are light gray, charcoal, and black. I have not yet installed them because I am concerned about the adhesive causing damage to my walls if they need to be removed. I may look for removable adhesive to use instead. As noted by other reviewers, these are meant to help with echo-y sound bouncing around, not to keep sound from going through walls (like not hearing neighbors and such), so know what you're really going to get out of the product! ... show more
