I bought these for my daughter’s birthday party as a craft for them to do. They are really cute and the accessories are great too. Love that they come with coasters, paints and a decent set of brushes. I was a little disappointed as one arrived broken.

    • Fun substrates for practicing airbrush painting!
I've ordered and airbrush painted a few New Hampshire brand ceramic objects. It's great fun and easy; the ceramic finish lets paint stick super well to it. But $15 to $20 a statue keeps me from constantly getting them. I came across this in an Amazon Flash sale and couldn't help myself. I have not used the paints and supplies that are included with this set so I can't remark on them, but overall these little planters are pretty good. First off, some of the wooden bases are really rough and will need sanding; They're that rough. For the planters themselves, there are some tiny blemishes on them, mostly in the form of tiny dent impressions (maybe from a fingernail before the planters were fired?) or tiny blobs of excess ceramic. All of the blemishes I've seen are small enough that at a distance are not noticeable. Only by picking them up will you notice them. I use water based acrylic paints, primers and topcoats. For a tougher finish, I mix in a bit of Mission Models's polyurethane additive. Regardless of what I use, I've never had any issues with paint sticking to these planters. So, if you're looking for some objects to try airbrush painting, these are a solid choice if you get them on sale! ... show more

Got for my daughter's birthday party activity. Each kid gets their own set up. None of the pieces were broken, as I have read from other comments. I'm going to throw in an apron, seperately and done! Love it!
