When it comes to practice skins thicker is definitely better. These skins take ink very well and you get 10 of them but the 3 mm thickness will allow you to utilize both sides so it's almost like your getting double the amount

5 stars! My kiddo's half-sister has been wanting to learn how to tattoo for a while. She is hoping to make a career out of it, but no one in the household is willing to let her practice on their skin - at least not yet. When I came across this I figured it would be a great thing for her to practice on. It arrived in a timely manner and was packaged well. Right away you could tell that they were thick and good quality. Upon opening it we could see that it had almost a real skin type feel, including movement. It takes the ink well and it is thick enough that one could use both sides to practice on. She was extremely happy with it. She has been practicing on the same skin (both sides) for a couple days now just doing small pieces to get the hang of it. Comparing these practice skins to others similar, I would see they are on the lower end in price - this is especially true when you take in the quality of them. If you have a budding tattoo artist in your home, or maybe you are a tattoo artist just wanting to hone some of your designs or skills - We would absolutely recommend these. ... show more

I am a beginner to tattooing and I picked up this pack of 3mm skins to learn on. I thought the thicker skin would be helpful to have until I learn my needle depths better. They give me room to go deeper than I mean to with out hitting the table. I worry about that happening to me with 1mm skins. The skins take ink well and show me where I have lingered too long or pushed my needle in too quickly. They are big enough that I can fit several small-ish designs on each one. I definitely recommend this skin if you want to practice tattooing and not worry about the needle going through it. You can also use the other side if you wanted to! These are a must have if you've got people you love who want to practice tattooing BUT you don't want to be their scribble pad. I was so lucky to come up on this item and be able to test it out. My daughter has been after me to let her scratch me up - No mam. Not me. I got her a couple different of sets of these to keep her busy for a while. She is over the moon with them and says they are amazing. You can actually place them over some one's actual arm or leg and practice tattooing on an angle over natural body curves too. AMazing!
