LED strips are coated in a rubber-like silicone, similar to what you would use as a sealant. To cut the srtips to length, I found it worked well if you score the silicone with a carpet knife/razor, then fold the LED strip over on itself while the silicone separates. You may have to use a fingernail or something to help it finish separating but it will peal off clean once it is. I soldered the connections and then used silicone sealant to "weatherproof" the splices. We'll see how long it lasts, but it probably won't be the LED strips fault if something fails. I am asking a lot from them, and two weeks in and they are still holding up. ... show more

I had 1 of the 3 strands arrive DOA. I reached out to the seller and immediately received a full box replacement at no cost and did not have to take the original down to return it, which is great since I have it custom installed on a deck and now only have to replace 1 strand instead of all 3. These lights were easy to put up, and they light up the yard nicely. App is user friendly. My only problem (after they've been up for several months), is they don't like cold weather. I live in Utah, and what I've learned is the solder within the line freezes and breaks, leaving long sections that no longer work. There is a fix, but is difficult, and seems temporary. If you live in a warm area (above 40*), then you'll love them. ... show more

I was looking for an outdoor / true waterproof led light strip. The descriptions on this listing state it is what I wanted. However, nowhere on the package does it indicate this. Except for the item barcode sticker. The only mention of the rating in the booklet is for the LED Controller. I ordered 2 boxes of 100'. Two of the 3 strips in both boxes are DOA. I’ve had nothing but problems with these lights. The first strand I put up wouldn’t change colors so they sent me a new set. You were supposed to be able to cut them. I had no luck with them working after being cut. Finally I put one long strand across the windows and pole on my porch. Well after a few months I noticed in 2 spots, a small section of the lights were blue when I had them set to green. Then part of the strand went out. One thing good I can say is their support team is great. They will send you a new set if you have problems. But needless to say, I wouldn’t buy these again and I don’t recommend them. ... show more
