I absolutely love this privacy roller shades. But I have to be honest. I ordered this shade thinking that it would be a pull down shade that came fully assembled and ready to install. Meaning I was looking for a long box when it arrives. But when it did arrive and I saw it in a small square box. I was surprised and thinking did they send me the wrong item? So I opened the box and it was the right item but it was fully disassembled I was kind of disappointed and just put it to the side for a couple of days. So the black shade is made of cloth like material but has a coating on it. One side black other side silver. It was folded and the the plastic roller came in 3 parts that you put together. Also came with a long velcro that you stick to the top of the window and the other side you put on the shade itself. I recommend you iron the shade material on silk or low setting to get the creases out. It also came with 3 silver clasps to hold it in place when you roll the window shade up. And also circular velcro pieces to put on the side of the window if you want it permanent privacy. I chose the roll up option. You do have to cut the shade to your window size. Installation took only 10 mins after the ironing and cutting. So here is the good part. I did not appreciate this shade til the next morning when I wanted to sleep in and my room was still dark. I was thinking that it was dark and gloomy outside when I woke up. Then I realized that it was this darkening shade that made my room really dark. Felt like it was still night time outside when it was rolled down. When I rolled it up it was sunny outside. This is the darkening shade that I have been looking for and did not realize it. I had been buying other darkening blinds that did not darken the room . But this shade did it. The only thing is that you have to manually roll it up then clamp it up. Roll down is easy. Just let it drop. I didn't much of this shade when I first got it. But now I love it. Love that it let's me sleep in without the Sun waking me up. Even though this is a manual roll shade it's a 5 star on my book. ... show more

This blackout Shade is good for certain uses but not for others. One thing that I do like is that it is easy to install and has a good adhesion. If you think that these are curtains or blinds these are not. This is merely a black shade that sticks to the window via Velcro hook and loop stickers. It does the job but is not something that is a permanent fix. For my windows and the bedroom I just installed a mechanical roller Blackout Shade and it's great. This Blackout Shade is not what I expected but nonetheless is a great product if it is used for what you need. ... show more

I will state outright I can be a tough reviewer but I'm very educated, honest, and tired of seeing the market flooded with either mis/non advertisement of products and/or the product itself. This one hit both. Ad and product. To call this a roller blind, I mean it does roll, with your hands, which can be said about virtual any curtain. I can grab the bottom of almost any curtain and roll it up by hand and call it a "roller" curtain. I can buy mini blinds that require less time and effort for less money than this. Sure they have to be installed with a whopping 4 screws, but that takes as much time as rolling this up once by hand, and I only have to do that once. The material is not "curtain" like at all. Not what I was expecting anyways. It looks/feels like dollar store/as seen on TV cheap , but priced at $20+!? To me this is an $5-10 item from a dollar store and I didn't even finish taking it all out of the box before putting it back it. I wanted a curtain, that felt like a curtain, looked like a curtain, operated like a curtain. This doesn't meet any of those this it may be great at blocking light out, but so are decent, actual curtains.... ... show more
