The media could not be loaded. Shallow mount subwoofers have been around for quite a while, but these all in one low profile units seem to have taken the lead in space saving subwoofers. I have used several other brands with less than optimal results. Every time, they tend to be punchy up top, but distort when trying to go low. I was skeptical of the Andeman low profile sub, but was pleasantly surprised. Upon unboxing, I found a well made, sturdy case. The amplifier terminals are solid and tight. The speaker grille doesn’t feel cheap. The subwoofer feels nice and tight with a thick, long travel surround. I imagine after some break in time, it will be capable of decent excursion. It includes mounting hardware and hex wrenches for the terminals. It also includes the high pass harness if you don’t have a way to use RCA cables. Last of the included accessories is a remote bass boost knob. It also includes a complete wire kit with power, ground, remote, and RCA cables. This is where I took a star away in my rating. The wire kit is garbage. Maybe the RCA cables can get by and the remote wire doesn’t carry much load, but the power and ground are way too small. The insulation is thicker than the wire inside. Maybe the insulation is a 8-10 gauge but the wire inside is probably a 14-16. The fuse holder is also trash. It’s a cheap blade style holder and where the terminals go in, bare wire is showing and there is no shrink tube or any kind of protection from shorting out. From a functional stand point, this sub is impressive for its size. I was not expecting the type of bass that the Andeman produces. It actually gets pretty low. Nothing like a large ported enclosure or a 12” high powered sub, but for how small of a footprint it has the sub beats. I tested it in an open room and still felt that it hits above its pay grade. The lights, I’m not a huge fan of but this would be placed under a seat or in a hatch and I don’t think the lights would be visible. The fit and function of this unit is great for the price. I just wish they used better wire. Installation was easy, it’s standard car audio hookups. I for sure recommend the Andeman powered subwoofer if you need a little something extra and don't have a lot of space. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Once I hooked this up, from the first base note I was impressed. I am powering the car stereo and this sub on a 14vdc 12amp power supply. The kit comes with the power, ground, and remote wires to hook this up. The power wire is fused and you get mounting hardware as well. The weight and feel of this is nice, it's pretty heavy and rock solid. I have run this for about 6 hrs. straight each day for two days now, so far it's handled anything I have thrown at it. It fills my oversize two car garage with plenty of bass, and you can hear the bass outside as well. There are no vibration noise or rattles coming from the unit, its put together well. At first I was looking around for the button to turn on the ring lights but couldn't find it and there was no mention of it in the manual. You just have to turn the volume up enough to get them to turn on, but at the volume I was listening it was just too low. Even at a volume below where the lights turn on, it puts out plenty of bass and very usable at low volume. I recommend. The sound of the bass is quite good, it has a nice warm rumble to it, you can hear the bass guitar strings vibrate and feel it in you body. You can see in my video, I have the unit standing up, if you play it laying down it makes all sorts of noise as it's jumping and vibrating on my bench. So you really need to mount this down to the car floor, it will improve the bass response tremendously if you can keep the enclosure from moving, all the power will go into cone movement instead of moving the enclosure. In fact if I hold onto the enclosure and hold it from moving the bass is way better, tighter and more accurate. I am really looking forward to installing this in my car. The unit did get warm in one area of the back, I'm sure that's where the amp transistors are mounted as a heat sink. It never got anywhere close to hot to the touch but you could feel the warmth, maybe like 100 or 110 degrees. It was about a 4 inch circle that gets warm on the back, so plenty of the rest of the back to provide the heat sink. But with continuous play for 6 hours it never got any hotter. ... show more

There are a lot of very detailed reviews for this already. Still opted to pick this up to see how it worked out. If you're limited on space in your car/truck, this all in one is a great place to start to add some much needed bass to your ride. I've grown fonder of these AIO's over the last few years. Again, the Max/peak wattage doesn't really matter when it comes to creating great sound. It is the RMS power that makes the difference. RMS is the average power the unit can handle. Best to be about 1.5 times RMS with your amp wattage. Wish I could tell you what any of that was because it's not really mentioned anywhere. The LED is a nice addition, but not really necessary for most. The unit is slim enough to mount under most seats or to the back of a seat even depending on the application. Overall, it produces a decent sound, but nothing to really get too excited over. If you've got a car/truck with limited space, this could be a good option for you.
