  • Good product
The auger is sturdy. How much of a beating it can take remains to be seen. I’ve used it once to bore 8 holes in an outdoor work bench for pegs. I was able to make the pegs from oak limbs with the eye tool on the top as well as the handle to bore the holes with it. So, it works like it is supposed to. It drilled well and continues to do so as long as a small file is used to keep the cutting edge honed. It is made of stainless steel so it hasn’t gotten flash rust on it from my hands. I did use a hatchet to lightly tap (seat) the bit into the wood I was drilling (oak) so it is durable for that. It should be fine even with heavy use. Just don’t leave it outside, store it in its case and hone the cutting edge periodically. ... show more

  • Fun Tool for the Woods
I was not familiar with a Scotch eye or hand auger wrench. I began looking at them and thought it might be entertaining to take camping. I have only used it near my house so far, which is probably good in order to practice using it. I like it! The auger is sharp and drills well! The screw tip does the work of pulling the auger into the material. The Scotch eye part does take some getting used to. I would suggest you have a very sturdy dowel and wooden hammer to pound out the stick whose end you are trying to cut. I really appreciate the case too. It's not real leather, but it's still nice. There is even a separate piece that velcros around the auger to further protect the outer case, very nice! ... show more

  • Well Made
I like the hexagon Eye, the flat surface allows for a more secure weld, good welds, the shank is sturdy, and the10" length allows for deep hole drilling.

  • Útil pero no es facil de usar.
La verdad es útil y cumple con su promesa, aunque no lo hace facilmente. Requiere de mucha maña para poder hacer un trabajo eficiente.

  • Smart tool
This is a great tool to have for bushcrafting I love it. It drills the perfect hole in logs with ease. The dial rod tool works great too. Had to use a file on mine to sharpness it. Can't say enough. Thanks will buy another for family at Christmas

  • Worked like a charm for one fire torch then it snapped when we tried to make a second
We love projects while on our annual guys camping trip. Bought this tool in hope of making three Swedish fire torches. Worked like a charm for one. Then we went to make the second and the head (where you slide in a rod/stick to make the tool workable as a drill) snapped off. So much for the amazing weld quality one of the reviewers mentioned. Wanted to love this tool and use it for years to come, but it didn’t survive a single trip. ... show more
