The media could not be loaded. My son and I do a lot of spraying throughout the year, and we only have 4-gal backpack sprayers or for real small areas or our grass we use the 2-gal battery sprayer. On larger sprays it took a very long time and a lot of pumping to spray a 1/4-acre lot. I ordered this Tomahawk 1.3hp sprayer in hopes to make the job easier. I was also in luck; this unit came with the conical spray gun as well. What makes the conical gun such a helpful tool is it allows for a fine mist spray. A smaller droplet on a plant I'm trying to kill is much more effective than larger droplets. I also include a surfactant and dye, so the chemicals adhere to the plant and the dye helps me see the area already sprayed. So, I had never used this type of machine before, I needed to spend some time reading the instructions. The Honda Motor instructions were clear enough. The start-up guild needs help and there's no instructions for the sprayer/pressure mechanism. Guess I'll figure that part out. There is a replacement if ever needed and I'm sure I can get parts when needed. Tomahawk has some great products. Their prices are great for the products. So, once I read everything, I installed the throttle assembly and hose crank arm. Easy enough. Take your time and look at the diagrams on-line so you can blow them up. Easier that way. Next, I added 3oz of 10w-30 small engine oil. Please spend a couple extra dollars and get the right brand for warranty purposes and its better stuff. I then pushed up the choke and pushed the fuel prime bulb a couple of times and proceeded to pull the starting rope. Started right up. Because it's warm out I opened the choke and adjusted idle speed. Then I dunked the intake hose up and down while adjusting pressure to prime the intake. Easy enough. Now that I've used Tomahawk skid sprayer for over 100 gallons of spray I can start the sprayer in one pull, prime in 30-45 seconds and fine adjust my spray pattern and within 3-4 minutes I'm ready to spray. The best thing is, when I stop the machine, as long as I leave the intake hoses in liquid, I can start right back up and instantly continue spraying. Caution don't let it go dry. Always have liquid flowing through the system. For my jobs I usually have the pressure at 10-20 points and I'm getting a great flow. Before I went into the field with the unit, I calibrated by measuring an area of 1000 sq ft and proceeded to spray and adjust it till I could spray that area with one gallon of liquid. After spraying some large areas, I can without a doubt say this skid sprayer makes a HUGE difference in speed and uniform coverage. ... show more

Very good quality, solid construction, and does everything it says it will do. I wish it had wheels so I could move it around depending on my walking speed and size range, because it weighs about 50 pounds, which is too heavy for my wife to move if she's working alone, but regardless of the weight, this is a great sprayer! ... show more
