  • CUTTING-EDGE FEATURES: The SB380 Soundbar provides both quality and style. It has a disappearing display feature that shows the current volume, bass, treble, mute, and PhaseCue (virtual surround) settings. This device also has an output leveling feature to tame loud commercials easily.
  • ACCUVOICE TECHNOLOGY: AccuVoice is a patented technology that extracts voices from soundtracks and improves their clarity and understanding. AccuVoice technology works the same way as hearing aid technology but with a much more sophisticated processor capable of subtle sound manipulation.
  • SIX LEVELS OF VOICE BOOST: The SB380 Soundbar uses our patented hearing aid technology to provide six levels of voice enhancement. Each new level emphasizes the dialogue while minimizing the non-vocal elements of the soundtrack. Even at extremely low volumes, voices are clear and easy to understand.
  • WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE:The SB380's sleek 3.3" aluminum cabinet houses high-performance speakers, a digital amplifier, a ZVOX PhaseCue virtual surround system, and a built-in powered subwoofer for excellent bass, along with all necessary cables and accessories you will need, like an optic cable, an analog connecting cable, a remote control, and a quick start guide.

You can wall mount it, place it in front of the TV, or place it on a shelf. It functions without the use of wi-fi, phone apps, or pairing. Simply connect the speaker to your TV, go to the TV's on-screen settings and select the external speaker sound option.

Description

You don't have to choose between a great product and a great value - with the SB380, you get both. Inside the SB380's sleek 3.3" aluminum cabinet you'll find high performance speakers, a digital amplifier, ZVOX PhaseCue virtual surround system, and a built-in powered subwoofer. The SB380 looks great and sounds great – and it's simple to use. And the value, for what you get, is just unbeatable. AccuVoice Technology For Clear Dialogue ZVOX's proprietary AccuVoice technology lifts voices out of the soundtrack and then modifies them using hearing aid technology. AccuVoice creates stronger dialogue emphasis, while minimizing the non-vocal parts of the soundtrack. The results are remarkable. Voices are clear and easy to understand, even at extremely low volumes. You'll hear every word, even on poorly mixed programs or British programs. CNET says "Great for folks who have trouble hearing the TV." Read more Wall Mount It. Put It in Front of the TV. Put It on a Shelf. Your Choice. The SB380 gives you choices. You can wall-mount it below your TV, using the hanger-slots built into the back panel. Or you can place it upright on furniture below, or above your TV. Or you can place it "on its back" in a low-profile horizontal position right in front of your TV. Say Goodbye to Loud Commercials If you've ever been blasted out of your chair by a too-loud commercial - you'll love our Output Leveling (OL) feature. Just push the OL button and a sophisticated processor takes over, making soft sounds louder and loud sounds softer, so there are fewer jarring moments when switching channels or when commercials come on. This system also helps by boosting the audio levels from a DVD or Blu Ray player that are not loud enough. Disappearing Display The SB380 features a four-digit display located behind the speaker grille that shows the current setting for volume, bass, treble and PhaseCue (virtual surround) - and also shows when you have engaged the Mute, Output Leveling (OL) or AccuVoice (ACCU) features. A few seconds after you stop using your remote (or front panel) controls, the display disappears completely. • Bought for my Mom
My mom is pretty hard to buy for. But this last time I visited I knew this might be a great gift. Everytime I visit her we watch a little tv and the volume is always going up and down to accommodate her aging ears. I wasn't sure if it was a gimmick or not - but they have a 30 day return so I thought I'd give it a go. This was replacing an LG soundbar that didn't solve the her hearing issue. Setting it up was pretty easy - there is unfortunately no HDMI, I knew that before buying however. Once it was set up I could tell the difference instantly, the voices were much clearer and this was on the lowest boost (AC1) - My mom asked me what I thought and I stressed to her what matters is what she thinks. I was able to stay for a couple days after setting it up. We pretty quickly bumped it to AC2, and turned on the sound leveling. Right now it's on AC3. I don't know any other way to say this... each increase of the AC level makes it sound less hi-hi / theater like to my ears but again, that's not the point. The first evening with AC set to one, Sound leveling Off, and Surround set to 1 (we never changed the surround level), We barely touched the volume, but she did mention how some things were loud - So I turned on the sound leveling, which definitely impacts the 'theater quality' and bumped the AC to level 2. My Brother came over and he too immediately noticed the difference, commenting that is sounded clear and much better than the old sound bar. Yet there where still a few times we played with the volume so I bumped the AC to level 3. and this is where it was when I left. This soundbar has 6 levels for accuvoice, Zvox makes soundbars with just AC on or off... I wonder what level the is equivalent to? In the end we watched TV with the sound on '11' which was *maybe* one level higher than I would have listened, certainly not as loud as my Mom used to listen at, and with her hearing more of the content. The remote was quite a bit nicer than I expected, but Mom won't be needing it as the soundbar can learn your TVs Power, Volume up, Volume down, and Mute and respond to them. This is one spot where the documentation fails slightly - For one thing the directions for setting this up are not included I had to download them... Oh and a side note, they brag about the one page of directions - yes they are one page, one very large page printed on both sides and folded six times (yeah, marketing people) - Anyhow back to the programming the sound bar to respond to your TV - you need to download the directions from there website. and then the directions won't work, it simply will not enter 'learning' mode. Well the missing detail from the direction is the sound bar must be OFF at the beginning of the setup. It didn't take me long to figure that out, but it should have been clearly stated. (I did try it a few times using first the remote then the physical buttons before discovering it needed to be OFF first - at which point the remote or the physical buttons worked) So in short - super happy - it sounds great, it does sound better with the AC lower and the sound leveling off, but it still sounds great as i configured it for my mom - and that was the whole point. Does my mom hear every word now? no - But we can watch tv quieter than we used to, and we adjust the volume significantly less then before (like 90% less) We are thinking of getting this sound bar for my mother-in-law as well. And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for anyone that is looking at getting a sound bar in general. Personally, I have a Marantz AV receiver and lots of speakers - but for a sound bar this thing sounds great - and better than the $150ish sound bar we got from the big box store. BTW I purchased https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DW1XOCY/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_F84cEb6F6FJF8 to mount it under my moms TV ... show more

  • Clearer voices for sure

  • Great company to deal with, but product needs a little refinement
This is my second ZVOX audio product; the SB380 sound bar replaces a Zbase-320 sound base. I upgraded because I figured it was time to, having just purchased a new 4K Sony TV, and my hearing deficit required something more than the simple dialog enhancement feature of the 320. The quality of sound I get from the SB380 is much better than the old sound base and the AccuVoice feature works as advertised, making murky soundtracks listenable in most cases. However, a word of caution: you'll quickly learn that there are some programs/movies with such poorly mixed sound that no manner of electronic wizardry can untangle the voices from the background noise. So don't expect miracles here. The bigger issues I have with the SB380 have to do with its design. First, this is a large, rather clunky looking unit that looks OK lying on its back on the cabinet top in front of the TV (one of the suggested configurations), but functionally is a disaster in that position. For starters, the speakers are facing up, which makes no sense at all, as is the digital display, which makes even less sense as you can't see it without standing up. The alternative is to stand the sound bar up so the speakers and display are facing you, but the unit was clearly not designed for that as there are no designed-in "feet" to keep it steady and the only accommodation made is a couple of cheesy rubber strips that attach to either end cap to help steady it a bit and keep it from sliding around. I ended up placing the unit behind the TV as it works OK there and doesn't detract from the TV and cabinet's appearance. Second, the Auto-off feature, which is designed to turn the unit off after you turn off the audio source (ie: the TV, DVD player, etc) doesn't work. At least it doesn't work with my Sony TV or, for that matter with many other TVs, judging from many of the comments I see in reviews and on ZVOX's web site. Apparently it's so sensitive, that it reads just about any pause in sound as a signal to shut down, the result being it continually shuts itself off every 20 minutes or so. So my only choice was to disable it and now I have to make sure I remember to turn it off when I'm done as I was told there's a possibility of burning out the amplifier! It seems like, if they haven't gotten this resolved in several years of production, they should just delete the feature altogether or at least provide a simple power on lamp to remind the user to turn the unit off manually. ... show more
