    • Great beginner paddles with lots of pop!
If you're new to pickleball then starting with a wooden paddle isn't a terrible idea. Once you have played for a while you'll start to understand a little bit more of the dynamics of how different types of paddles affect the ball. With these paddles you can just play and not worry about more advanced techniques such as spin and angles. These paddles should last a while if you take care of them, and they are very easy to get used to especially if they're your first paddle. The handles are a little bit longer than some of the other entry level paddles, and that can help with getting a feel for a more leveraged paddle. If your heart is set on wooden paddles then these are a great option. If, however, you want to try something a little more mid-level then I recommend starting with graphite or fiberglass. ... show more

The item itself is fine, but the description and package indicate it's two paddles and I only received one. I ordered a replacement, got it, sent the old one back, and the replacement also only has one paddle. Now I'm still a paddle short. Frustrating.

This is a very nice set to get for beginners to the game. As someone who grew up playing handball transitioning to a paddle was never a consideration. These paddles are a great size and lightweight so that I can actually connect with the ball (not necessarily an easy thing to do). I feel that fiberglass and carbon filled paddles will bring a different element to the game. But if you are a newbie than I highly recommend these wood paddles. Once you have the hang of it you can always upgrade. This set is good for the whole family and it's cool that it comes with several balls and a nice carrying case. Awesome value for the paddles and balls. The carry bag helps with keeping the balls in place. I feel it would have been better to have a bag that could carry all the items, but not a big deal. The paddles are thick, but lightweight and has a nice range when striking the ball. It’s perfect for someone just starting to play pickle-ball as I am a true novice. The paddles worked for me as a starter and seem to be a good model for my skill set. The first time out, we used them for a few hours and had no issues.
