  • Seamless, Explosive Performance
First; I didn't rate "Value For Money" because of the state of the market these days. Carl Menger and the Austrian School taught me well. I'm in a spot of work where a 4090 is what's called for right away and that imperative drove the buy. The shopping began on that premise. Watching the market closely for several months now, I observed all the fans at work, cheering their GPU AIB favorites and slagging all the rest. I saw more than enough legitimate customer complaints to go around among all the manufacturers, to the point where, honestly; price wasn't the only compelling factor, but certainly the leading one. At buy-time, the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO 24GB was quickly and conclusively the pro move. Complaints about style are what they are and everyone has 'em. Personally, I like it. I saw "2001: A Space Odyssey" in 1968 and the computing power idealized in that film is now more than real, and more so all the time. I like the celebration with 5-zone RGB control on this board. "It's really space-age. I dig the fins." (Frank Zappa) Installation went straight ahead, with the 12vhpwr cable from my power supply. It lit right up first try on the Gigabyte B660 DS3H AC DDR4 motherboard. I had downloaded the latest driver .zip from NVIDIA before the install, and that went completely as-advertised. Smooth update to 546.17, no goofs. This was an upgrade from a PNY RTX 3060 in a 32gb RAM Windows 11 system. That 3060 worked hard through the initial phases of the project, and the 4090 is in command now for all the right reasons. * Vectorworks Spotlight -- stage lighting plot & control design; 3D geometry import/export * Blender -- 3D geometry management (+import/export); stage set design * GrandMA3 on PC -- desktop emulation of real-world control console; preproduction design/cueing * Unreal Engine -- packaging client presentations for design review (see attached images) These central applications vary in their exploitations of what this Zotac 24gb RTX 4090 can do. Cycles ray-tracing in Blender is just smashing. It depends on scene complexity, of course, but this is power unprecedented by far in my nearly 40 years of computing. Visualizing stage looks in GrandMA3 is weightless in all viewing (zoom, orbit, pan, etc.) and real-time authoritative at the faders. I cannot yet estimate the top-end of performance in Unreal Engine at this. There is imperative work to do that precludes comprehensive testing (I haven't even glanced at DaVinci Resolve yet), but that's just fine: it's doing everything I need to do, so far, easily. ~~~ The sale went smoothly, and this unit was delivered almost a full week *ahead* of stated schedule. Go figure that. All in all, this integration of the Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO 24GB with my upgraded iBuyPower Trace Mesh rig (yes; it fits in the IBP Trace 7 case) is everything I would look for in a $2000+ deal on a flippin' GPU. It's a worker, and that's what counts. ... show more

  • Fast - a monster - needs every bit space you can offer
This monster did not fit into my full tower case until I removed its drive bays, and I have a huge case. I ended up getting a different 4090 and put this into another machine, because I was just swapping things around for the best experience and I had to remove my nvme adapter from the next x16 slot to fit this. The new 4090 gave me enough room to put my nvme adapter back in. There's nothing wrong with this card, it's a beast, it's fast, it can over clock but what's the purpose when you gain a few percent, if that. It'll SD at 30 it/s at least. If it were not for the pretty decorating plastics I would be 100 percent ok with this, but I'm not a hard core gamer and I don't have a window on my computer for a light show. It works and works great and that's all that's needed. It does come with the adapter, in case you were wondering, I was. So you can plug 4 pcie cables into it, make sure you DO have 4... seriously, don't skimp on this and do a search on these things melting of you don't cable it properly or you don't have the newest ATX standard PSU. Be careful of the new ATX PSU you buy if you need to fortify this GPU, because some come with a dual, or quad, modular out setup into the 16 pin connector, which seems kind of skimpy to me so I got one that made sense, 16pin to 16pin on both ends. ... show more

  • First and last Zotac product that I’ll buy.
This is a 1700 dollar piece of garbage. It plays games really well. It does everything else REALLY bad. It has a frequent red flashing of the LED lights if you have an MSI motherboard. You can change the bios to quiet and it will just randomly flash blue instead of red. I figured that I would just use this card with my Asus motherboard PC and it stopped doing this, but see several people online that have only 1 computer and are stuck with this issue. I tried their software for changing the LED lights and it was a completely buggy mess. It took awhile to just turn off all the LEDs because the software is so buggy it will set it to something else instead of off. The worst part? My motherboard bios will not show up on a clean boot. It also will not always show on system restart from Windows. I can get to the bios on Windows restart, but never on cold boot after shutting down the system. I paid about 1700 dollars for this mess. It really upsets me that Zotac sells this piece of garbage for 1700 dollars. ... show more

  • Plays any game well, cool, and quietly.
I upgraded to this 4090 from my EVGA 2070 super. This is my first Zotac product, so I initially had some anxieties. Those fears were unfounded, though. The Zotac Amp Extreme Airo has almost no coil whine, and the fans only make any noise under very heavy load. Even then, they are not particularly loud. Thanks to the large cooler, and this is a very big card, the GPU stays very cool at all times. It plays any game I throw at it without breaking a sweat. It also looks very cool in my case. I highly recommend the Amp Extreme Airo :) ... show more

  • Still works great after a year
I've had this for almost a year now and it still works great! I mainly use it for gaming and its just incredible on what it can do. Doesn't matter what you set the settings at in any game or even if you use it for vr, you'll get a nice smooth high framerate experience. I chose this Zotac model because it was pretty much the only 4090 that wasn't box shaped making it the best one to fit the aesthetics of my build. I have had no issues with this card. It's temperatures have always been great, in the mid 70 F even after long gaming sessions. And my particular card has been extremely quiet, even when its running at full speed. There is no whinning from the fans or anything like that. ... show more

  • I bought this at 1699, Great price.
I bought this at 1699, Great price. The GPU will start to harmonize a little at 60+ C But You just need more fans at that point to keep the temperature down. Generally a great GPU, It stays pretty cool most of the time. Have rarely seen it go above 66 C. With the proper Air cooling.
