  • It does what you expect it to, dominate.
Size: Boost Clock: 1665 MHz Style: AMP Graphics Card
I will be periodically updating this review Initial thoughts after having it for 5 days: Pros: -This triple fan heatsink does wonders. I haven't had the card go above 65*c under load. My old evga 1070 ftw would run around 75*c. - Exactly what you need for 144hz 1440p gaming. I have an Acer predator monitor that does this, and I am finally able to maximize the monitor's potential on many more games vs my old evga 1070 ftw. - DOUBLE+ fps compared to the old 1070! Upgrading to this from the 1070 and below are where you're going to see your bang for buck. I'm getting 90 fps in ark with everything maxed @ 1440p, and that's one of the most graphically intense games out. I'll get higher fps once dlss is enabled in that game. - can upscale to run higher resolutions on smaller monitors with less resolution for improved image quality. I can run witcher 3 in 3620x2036 DSR @ 100 fps with hair works and AA turned off. - RTX/DLSS capabilities - will be able to run pimax 5k+ comfortably (my main reason for upgrading). Once I get one I will update this section. - 5 year warranty - backplate for added stability and better heat radiation Cons: - price (though I managed to get it for 1200). Would've had much more appeal if it sold for even $200 less. - length may be an issue for some. It fit in my thermal core v71 case with plenty of space so I had no issues. - width may be an issue as it is a 2.5 pci slot card. Those looking to sli may be better off with gigabytes aorus waterforce. - at the time of writing the review, there are no rtx/dlss games out to play. This is also partially due to Microsoft not having released their windows 10 October update, so not much of the blame can be placed on nvidia. - not that it looks bad, you'd just expect more for a $1200 card. - doesnt take me out on romantic dates Other thoughts: - only the zotac logo has rgb. This can be a pro or a con. I personally dont mind it since I'm not staring at the card for hours. -firestorm software does what it needs to. I mainly use it to monitor what clocks the card runs up to. I probably wont be overclocking it since I'm happy that it hits around 2000 on stock settings. UPDATE: I have attempted to overclock this card with the firestorm, precision X1, and afterburner programs. The firestorm program gave me a clock boost of 60 mhz, while the other two programs gave me a boost of around 120. I decided to go with 60 mhz and added 500 mhz to the memory clock, with power at the stock setting. The clock played stable in witcher 3 for the 2 hours I played and did a timespy benchmark, and a heaven valley benchmark with no problems. I however ultimately decided to go with stock settings on everything as I want this card to last me the 5 years NVIDIA claims it will on stock settings. - Running it with an 8700k @ 5.0 ghz and 16 gb of 3200 mhz RAM, got a timespy score of 13413. ... show more

  • New Zotac Fanboy
I'm a big Zotac fan, with a 1070 ti mini, a 1660 ti, and a 2080 ti for my personal rig. I've tried 2 other brands but Zotac always worked great. Pros. 2080 ti amp extreme looks great in my case. Got a phanteks lux with a nice aio on an 8700k running 5.1 ghz. This card has great customizable lights, and it works great with my case. Performance is awesome as well. I may just be winning the lottery with these zotac cards, but my 2080ti is consistently between 97 and 99th percentile for performance on pc benchmark. The 1070 ti around 95, and the 1660 ti around 92. Very happy with these products. The 2080 ti is also keeping remarkably cool under heavy loads. I nornally don't go over 60 degrees even running triple monitors, one at 144hz 2k, one at 60 hz 4k, and a junk panel. Demanding games as well, like the unoptimized Ark, even run great on this card. The card isn't very loud in my case, but I've got a nice case which dampens it a lot, and if I left the side panel open it does get a little loud. Not as loud as my case fans though, and I could always drop the fan speeds and deal with higher temps. Cons Expensive, it is a 2080 ti. You pay for zero compromise, it wont be cost effective. Size. Big card. Not much extra room even in my case, so be careful with dimensions. Even screwed in properly there is a tiny bit of sag, which might look bad with level hardline tubing. Some people say their cards die shortly after getting it. I've had mine for over a year with 0 degredation of performance, going on 2 years. Maybe they overclocked too hard, maybe they pointed an AC at their pc and condensation killed it, maybe they got unlucky or I got lucky. Can't speak beyond my card. Mine is working perfectly though, even with high manual overclocks. Zotac, you have a new customer for life. Don't change! ... show more

  • Hopefully Optimistic on GPU #3
Size: Boost Clock: 1665 MHz Style: AMP Graphics Card
First off I'll start by saying that I am happy with the performance of the card. I knew the price to performance when purchasing and I didn't have any unrealistic expectations. However, I did have to go through two RMA processes for what is hopefully a good card. My first RMA process took 11 days and the cost of shipping was on me. Unfortunate but understandable. (I work in Production and understand that things happen). Here are where things get a bit more annoying. The card I received back was used which sucked but sometimes things happen and I guess I'm the small percentage that got the bad wrap this time. However the used card was artifacting and crashing on arrival. Which is completely unacceptable. How was this not discovered before shipping out a used card? Are there no quality checks? I sent in a new RMA request and was asked to try different benchmark software which crashed. Then I was asked to try a different system with a different power supply (I have a Corsair AX1600i) but tried with a 900W PSU just to rule it out. Still crashed. At this point they approved my second RMA (2 days later) and this time they provided the shipping label thankfully. 23 days after that I revived an email that the card failed their testing and that a new card would ship. 3 Days after that I revived a new card. So after 36 days of not having a graphics card I get the 3rd GPU, used again but it works. and has since February 18th 2019 , total of 215 days (date of posting review) and no sign of artifacts or crashing. While I am happy with the current GPU I do have a sense of dread that something could happen again and that I'll have to go through an unpleasant process all over again or potentially be denied RMA. The card however; when working performs great. ... show more
