The camera works great at night. The color in the camera is great for the first 6 months then it starts messing up and starts losing the color pixels and turns gray. The camera over all will work but it will not stay in color for long.

Update: Lynne has solved a problem for me that took weeks to diagnose and understand! Great work! Update: Joseph has been exceptionally helpful!! What went very well: The camera system equipment out of the box worked very well. The picture clarity and responsiveness of the camera are excellent. The quality of the equipment built and packaged by the manufacturer is very high. Zosi technical support responds very fast to email questions. As a final assessment, technical support was terrific but the journey along the way was difficult. What I found difficult: The boxes containing the cameras for the system say that a user manual is enclosed. It was not. Requests for a physical manual to be sent to me were deferred to the documentation on-line. Printing out the documentation from the emailed link resulted in small sizing rather than 8x11 printout, so the printed documentation was also hard to read. I believe that the statement on the boxes are wrong, and the user manual is never included. In my opinion, for this product to warrant 5 stars the system box must contain a complete physical user manual, not just a quick start pamphlet. I tried to turn off the flashing LED warning lights on the cameras but had no documentation on how to do it. I emailed technical support and received a link on how to address the issue. The link showed screen layouts that did not match the screen displays on my system. After management got involved, I was given specific instructions and was able to turn off the lights, and based on our discussion, management updated the documentation in the link.. Finally, the App (ZosiSmart) setup was frustrating. To use it, you have to set up an account. To set up an account, you must input a User ID and Password. The User ID input was no problem, but the app would not accept ANY combination of characters to enter the Password. The App always says that the Password entered does not meet the “rules”; and what is indicated is that a capital letter, a small letter, a number, and a special character are required. I tried everything imaginable and always got an error message. Finally, after management got involved and set up an account for me, I was able to access the ZosiSmart App with the User ID and Password they established for me. I have no idea how I could have overcome the Password issue without help from Echo and others from China. Once that was resolved, the user needs to scan the QR code on the DVR, then click on the “+” sign, then select device “DVR” (this is important – be sure to select the icon for a DVR not an icon for a camera), and then the App will add the system to your iPhone and push notifications can be monitored successfully. ... show more

I love this new system! I was on the hunt for a security camera system. After doing some research I decided I didn’t want to use a cloud based service that would cost me a monthly operating fee. I then looked at the big box stores, but I elected to try the ZOSI DVR wired camera system. Best value and cost by far. I installed the system without any problems. One could just hook it up and it automatically starts recording, or you can use many other useful features. My mom probably could have just plugged it in to record without any reading... if you want other features, some degree of technical abilities is needed. Points to know: 1. I created a gmail account just for this and set security on my gmail to low so that the ZOSI dvr was able to use the outgoing mail server without any issues. I could then make settings on the DVR to email me alerts when motion is detected. 2. I didn’t use a PC to program, but rather the included mouse. It’s easy. One can then look at a frame and select where in the frame to look for motion and set the sensitivity. This is useful if a frame has trees blowing and cars going by, but you only want an alert if a gate opens. 3. I downloaded the ZOSI app for my iPhone and I initially couldn’t get it to work. I emailed their tech support and they were fast and helpful. The manual is not well written and the tech support by email required me to think a bit differently. I sent screen shots and they texted back, “Please use zosi smart app on your phone, your DVR's network is okay, And the e-mail issue, the smtp server is smtp.gmail.com please refer to the below link” I was initially thinking... “don’t they see I did use the ZOSI app? But then I thought to look and there is more than one app... and there is one called, “ZOSI smart” I had ZOSI view. So get the right one! And I quickly said to myself... that’s how I set up the email... but I wrote “google” and not “gmail”. It was easy once I corrected my mistakes. Thank you ZOSI support. 4. Lots of options for cameras and DVRs. I have a guest house and a front house. Small city lot, but still further than the 65’ of run for the camera cable. I ended up buying 2 different ZOSI systems. Both are great. The cost is great. The app registers the devices and I can monitor from my iPhone. 5. In trying to solve some email issues before contacting their support, I read some posts on setting up port forwarding on your router. Don’t worry... it wasn’t needed. This isn’t as complicated as I was thinking! So in the end, I was able to install 2 systems with 6 cameras and my property is covered! All for much cheaper than a monthly fee based service. ... show more

I’ve bought this camera to replace an existing camera that failed. Bought the same camera and brand thinking it would function exactly as the original. The camera was packaged adequately and in its original packaging. It was plug and play installation. The camera itself needs to be adjusted using the adjustment button on the original hard wiring to acquire your settings needed. You will need to either have access to your display monitor or the Zosi app to see the camera menu to navigate. It is not an easy process if you are not savvy enough to understand the settings. The camera does perform as indicated but there is one issue with these cameras. The night vision LED’s tend to fail after a period of time which I’ve had 4 of them go periodically. The price point is on the cheap side so, if you want to keep purchasing these camera’s, you will be spending money to replace them. The Zosi security system is an affordable alternative for home or office use. As far as how long will it perform, that remains to be seen thus far. ... show more
