  • Stunningly Amazing Dog Toy, Secret Ingredient is LOVE
Pattern Name: Raccoon
I regularly troll the aisles of stores like Marshalls, Homegoods, Ross and T.J Maxx looking for discounted dog toys and dog treats, and one day, I stumbled across a ZippyPaws Squirrel toy. It had two special squeakers, that made a "chord" squeak with something that felt like a plastic bottle in between. I bought it and my dog fell in love. This is a special thing, a "stuffing free toy." But not the first I'd discovered. The first ones, from a company that makes them as Frogs, Lions and Bees - were attractive, but didn't last long due to my dog Eddie having missed his calling being a Lab/Shepherd mix. He was really destined to be a surgeon (not a lamb wrangler or bird retriever) because any toy that contained a squeaker and/or stuffing soon became a victim of Eddie's vivisection skills. A quick look at the box of toy "skins" and the chewed remnants of plastic squeakers is all the evidence needed. So the question becomes - when you have a dog whose surgical skills at dissecting toys are legendary, and you've found that *any* toy, whether made from fire hose material, with stuffing or without, or from plastic or hard rubber is not immune to the powerful teeth of an 80 pound obsessive chewer, is there any hope? What materials or process can produce a toy immune to the jaws of Eddie? Well, folks, the answer is love. Make the toy so special your dog will fall in love with it and not "kill" or eviscerate it. I bought this raccoon version to be Eddie's "outside" toy, because now when he goes for a walk, he refuses to go out without his ZippyPaws Squirrel toy. Seriously, he carries it with him everywhere. In the morning it is cradled between his legs. Our cat is jealous of the toy, and now we have two... Pros: • Durable • Attractive and desirable - your dog will "love" the toy, not shred it • Affordable - higher quality than toys that cost three times the amount • Has a loop so it can be hung up • The sounds it makes are adorable - I swear my dog tries to play songs with the squeakers - the sounds of pure canine joy! • No loose parts for him to bite off and swallow, even the feet, tail, arms, eyes and ears are very secure, but that could just be the byproduct of love as well Cons: • In reviewing the toy, you can easily run out of synonyms for "eviscerate" • We bought hundreds of dollars of inferior toys - this makes us understand the extent of the waste • Seriously, no cons.....this is the best! I hope ZippyPaws can sustain their business, because it seems that the longstanding model for dog toys is "a few days then done, buy again" especially when it comes to larger powerful chewers like my Eddie. I'd easily pay double or triple to keep these coming - but then again, how many will we need, if treated with LOVE? ... show more

  • Pupper's new best friend, not for aggressive chewers.
Pattern Name: Shark
Mr. Doggo loves this shark so much! He uses it to make music by asking his human to hold the tail while he happily squeaks it. Squeakers inside are pretty durable but Mr. Doggo has become more gentle with his toys as of late. He does groom Sharkey often, sleeps with him regularly, and places him in the front window to guard the house. I did have to buy a 2nd one because he groomed his first so much that the seams split. When I went to sew the seam back together, the fabric started shredding. We now have Sammy the Shark and Sharkey the Shark who recently had major surgery (seam repair). ... show more

  • Favorite toy
Pattern Name: Shark
My dog adores this one more than any other. Probably because of the crazy squeaker inside. Do be warned it will get annoying. But he's happy so I am happy.

  • dogs' favorite toy
Pattern Name: Banana
Dogs are completely obsessed. They like the fact it's easy to squeak, has two squeaky parts, and it's big but still fits in their mouths. Massive hit, so I'll have to get some of the other ones too.

  • Our girls favorite fetch toy!
Pattern Name: Banana
Always the first thing she pulls out of the toy box. Just wish she'd put her toys back. Wore out the first. She is aggressive with her stuffed toys, and had to get a 2nd. Quality is decent, 1st held up for over half a year off almost constant pull and fetch.

  • My Dog’s Favorite!
Pattern Name: Raccoon
My dog received his first Zippy Paws Dog Toy about 2 years ago. He is beyond tough on toys and the raccoon held up better than most. I just bought a replacement and it seems just as tough as the first one.

  • Well enjoyed, but not up for it
Pattern Name: Killer Whale
My wire hair fox terrier enjoys this toy very much! It's rather loud, so plan play time accordingly. The wisdom of never letting your dog play with toys unattended is critical here, as my terrier was able to rip the orca toy open at the tail fairly easily - and I would not classify him as an aggressive chewer. So now he uses it supervised extra tightly (chewing and shaking, then take it away the instant he starts tearing it). ... show more

  • Breaks TOO EASILY
Pattern Name: Eggplant
The squeaker broke within 5 minutes of my dog lightly playing with it and I had to sew the toy together as it was split all the way open along the seams. for the price of the item I think it is poorly made and I did not expect to have to repair it so soon after my dog started playing with it. my dog plays just as much with similar size bark box items and it takes days or even weeks before I have to sew anything together and the squeaker is broken . I would not make this purchase again and do not recommend it to others. I honestly want everything but do not want to go through the trouble of sending this damaged item back As it can obviously not be resolved and would end up in a dump. ... show more
