The product looks lovely on the ground. Very easy to put together the panels. The problem is the plastic spikes you use to push into the ground. I would have done it differently if I had to start all over again. However, this is a DIY. Make sure you know how hard the ground is. I began by pounding the stakes into the ground. Get about 6 inches into the earth; the ground gets very hard. Here is the problem. If you keep pounding, the stake ends start curling up. Try taking them out. You better get it right the first time. They are ruined. After installing about four panels, I used an auger to drill holes. Do yourself a favor and use this method. One final issue I have is that this product would be much better if they made it easier to cut down the 41" section to something smaller and to be able to purchase caps for the ends if you do cut. ... show more

    • While I did not get this with pets in mind, it is useful to keep out animals in my application.

My house has an outdoor access to a large crawl space under a bedroom addition put on the house in the 70s. It was covered with plywood and became a problem for raccoons and cats getting in the crawlspace. I had a contractors door installed after finding out about a cat that got inside. I had a sump pump out in recently as well as the crawl space area would retain water, and the floorboards would get mold. The contractor door has a screen for warmer weather to keep it aired out and dry so mold can't grow. The screen can be damaged by animals like raccoons and such, so I needed another stop gap. I had a small gate kit from a while ago, and I spray painted the wood white to match. This two-panel sections make a good barrier to medium to large animals. It won't stop rodents, but I have other measures to take care of those. It took me 90 minutes to put the panels together longer than stated, but I'm not a craftsman, and not in great shape. I had the panels pounded in the ground by the house opening to the crawlspace. The third opening I Installed the gate I'd created, (which took longer, but expected it too). Now workmen can access the crawl space, and larger animals cannot. It doesn't restrict airflow, so I slid back the glass and the crawlspace breath in the Spring air. Not bad price for making a fairly large garden or pet fence. Plus, being vinyl it will rot like my back yard wood fence. While it simply drives the spiked ends to support. It could easily be made with a sunken pipe filled with concrete to make permanent. Recommended. ... show more

The assembly went well on the fence section I received, but it wasn’t as sturdy as I had anticipated. Can be bulled down quickly by deer etc. On the plus side, it is simple to wash. A decent height. Fairly good thickness. Just not the top quality I expected. No sharp edges. Seems fairly safe.

This Garden Fence is very straightforward and quick to install; it is constructed from a thick plastic material that is bright and weighted. Since it is plastic, it attracts dirt, dust and grass stains very quickly. However, it is also easily cleaned by wiping off or spraying down with a hose. I was able to rub off any marks with my bare fingers as the surface is very water-resistant. The design is very simple and pleasant and has an appearance that can complement any yard. The posts are about 28in tall and the ground stakes are about 14 inches. There is enough length in the stakes to maintain a sturdy installation in just the ground; however, the manual also provides other installation ideas to increase the strength of the fence. A detailed manual is provided and contains step-by-step instructions, including pictures and tips on correct assembly. One fence took me approximately 17 minutes to piece together. The most time-consuming portion is the ground installation, as the assembly of the frame and slats are very straightforward. A screwdriver is required and the screws that are provided have self-drilling ends. One issue I faced with this is that you are inserting the screws into pre-fabricated holes, so some of the screws do not make a tight connection. They will remain in their location, but they cannot be tightened. To reduce the likelihood of this happening, do not over-tighten the first side before flipping the fence over and tightening the second. The slats are the easiest part of the installation; they slot into their position and have a plastic flap to prevent removal or movement. Considering how well it displays and how convenient it is to install; this is a good product that I would recommend. I like this fence for immediate no maintenance fence. The fence installs easy as the video shows, takes fifteen minutes to assemble install a section with one person. The fence is sturdy and durable as it is pvc yet is hollow so it is not a huge weight and easy to carry and ship. As I am a landscape architect and am putting this fence in our arsenal of materials to use for future projects as it is value priced and easy to assemble and installl and will stretch project budgets so that client's can see more for their investment. A fence like this that would be custom built of wood would be highly exhaustive of labor and require painting on a regular basis. This is a quick install saving on labor and maintenance. I highly recommend this for a immedite cottage garden fence, for delineating corners of ones property, for accent to grow vines on, etc. ... show more
