So my son's 10 year old Ashley Furniture twin size sleigh bed broke on him a couple of months ago and we decided to upgrade him to a full size. I didn't want to spend a ton on a new bed/mattress set because he's only a couple years from heading off to college and will want to pick his own furniture out sooner than later. We agreed on a bedframe and mattress with no box spring so we needed a slatted bed that would hopefully not need a bunkie board. After exhaustive research, including scouring every furniture store in our local area, we chose this bed. It's been about 4 weeks since we assembled it and WOW, impressive. It is excellent quality. The wood is good quality, the slats are close together and it feels incredibly solid. I had never seen a bed with velcro securing the slats but it's actually a sturdier setup than I would have thought. Once we had the slats in we realized they were spaced closely enough to meet the gaping recommendation for not needing a bunkie board. The wood color is not really my cup of tea, but because it has no head or footboard most of the wood is hidden by the blanket draping and it is by no means an ugly color regardless. We'd like to get a headboard for it, but I don't hold out any hope of finding one to match. For the price and quality, though, who cares. If it were my own bed it might be a deal breaker, but for a teenaged boy to loll around in, a guest room, a first apartment or home, this bed frame is a solid win. ... show more

Wow, this bed frame is amazing... I did a lot of research behind bedframes for my newly purchases purple mattress and considering the mattress was quite expensive, I wanted a bedframe that would be adequate for it, but not break the bank. After researching I found Zinus was a popular brand, but after reading comments on a ton of their products(literally read comments/researched products for hours), I found contradictory reviews. Either it was the most amazing, or the worst product ever. My take on this bedframe is it is an amazing bedframe! Pros: Affordable(I got it for around $200) Very Sturdy(I am 245 lbs) Really easy to assemble(took me and 1 other about 30 minutes.) No squeaking/sliding WOOD! Cons: The only cons I could even think of was: Very low to the ground(this could be a con for you) Not extravagant looking, but look simple and clean. I will update this review if any issues arise, but this is a great bed frame for the price!!! Go with this one if you're getting a Zinus frame. I needed an inexpensive bed. And this seemed to be what I need for the space, I have a window that is low and the bed is placed in front of it. Its delivered in a single box, which is very heavy. Inside everything is just pieces. But the bolts,nuts screws and tools (2) are well packed. Directions are pretty simple. On mine the directions showed a number 6 on pieces but the stickers on the pieces said 9. But I will give a lot of credit for the design of the pieces as they went together very easily with patience. As there is a lot of things to fit. I have in the past built many IKEA things, and this seemed better thought out in assembly. My only dislike is not having plugs to cover the hardware used to attach everything. I would not be afraid to recommend to a friend looking for a similiar type of bed frame. ... show more

I'm very pleased with this bed frame. Was on the fence with ordering after reading a majority of the reviews, & I'm so happy I took the chance. I'm a woman over 60, assembled it myself in less than an hour (opened box on porch & carried piece by piece to bedroom) and, unless you're 6 inches away scrutinizing the detail of the wood frame, it looks great. It sleeps well too. It came with lock washers & I don't see how the loosening problem noted in other reviews is possible, but I've only had it for a week of daily use. I need to rotate my mattress, so rather I used the boards with "sticky side" to secure a non-slip rug pad over the box boards. My mattress does not slide & I can rotate it as needed. Only tricky element - keeping the top sheet tucked under and out of sight. Applied non-slip tape to the bottom box board & it seems to be working. ... show more
