I was honestly quite surprised by the quality of this bedframe, after reading some of the reviews people were a bit harsh. Personally speaking, I find the quality to be surprisingly good for the price. The wood is solid and has a nice color and grain, ours had no damage, and the assembly really was not as difficult as some people made it sound. Between the instructions in the box and the YouTube video, it was really pretty straightforward. The bed is solid and for under $300 it looks fantastic. In my opinion, it’s hard to expect much more. This bed is solid wood (no veneers, no MDF, no plywood), and it's built like a tank. It's absolutely solid, with no wiggles, squeaks, or movement whatsoever. That also means it's heavy, which isn't a problem unless you plan on moving it a lot. Once you get it put together and tightened down, it's very difficult to disassemble it (to get it through a door, for instance), so build it in the room you want it in, and don't plan on taking it apart or moving houses with it easily. I am handy, and I put the entire thing together by myself, and it took me about an hour. Getting the slats on (with the velco lined up correctly) was a pain, but the rest of the build wasn't too bad. It's heavy (as already stated), and it really would have been easier to put it together with two people. If you're looking for a very reasonably priced bed that is solid wood and that will last a lifetime, this is for you. Once you get it put together, and tighten everything down well, it's going to be rock solid and survive most anything. The style is as pictured: simple, with a nod towards mid-century. It's styling is very basic and classic -- it doesn't draw attention to itself, which also will add to the longevity, since it could be used in most decor. ... show more

I've bought many many furniture that needed to be assembled from various online and offline stores. From my experience, IKEA furniture has been the easiest and most well aligned. I mean some of those furnitures are just so terrible and hard to assemble. So when I bought this Zinus bed from Amazon, I expected it to be like other furniture not from IKEA. Holes not aligning, rough edges, etc. To my surprise, this bed was so much better than any furniture I've had to assemble. First, I expected some pieces to be broken since delivery guys often throw packages right at my door. But it was so nicely packaged, nothing was broken or missing. Each Styrofoam that was protecting the frame pieces were all packaged in a plastic bag so no Styrofoam was flying everywhere. I was impressed there. Second, I prepared wood glue to glue some stressed areas so it would be more sturdy. But I didn't need any glue. All the parts were already reinforced that no glue was needed at all. It was a little confusing to understand the instructions at first, since the numbers and letters didn't seem to match the instruction, but once I figured out how it was laid out, it was so much easier than the ikea instructions. Third, all screws and bolts and such were all laid out on a thick paper, marked and sealed so it was easy finding which screw was needed where. It also had plenty of extras in case some rolled in the vent or something. Lastly, the tool that came with was nice and not dinky that I actually used that tool to assemble this bed! It took about 30 minutes for me and my husband to assemble this bed and it's nice and sturdy. You can tell a lot of thought and consideration went into this bed for the consumers to make this bed as easy to assemble as possible and I really appreciate that. If all other zinus furniture is well-made like this bed, I would confidently buy any furniture made by zinus. 100% recommend. ... show more

    • Beautiful and sturdy, but.........

This is a beautiful bed frame that with 2 of us, was very easy to put together. We got it done in under an hour. The ONLY reason for the 4-star was that the directions that came with it were mismarked. The directions had all the pieces marked A, B, C, etc. yet all the pieces were marked 1, 2, 3, etc, and did not correspond to the ABC. Thankfully I'm an IKEA girl and can follow pictures well. We only had one issue and of course, the very first piece we connected we found out at the very end was upside down so we had to dismantle part of the bed and re-do it. Besides that, the bed is very sturdy and does not creak. The height is comfortable to sit on. The color is on the orange-yellow side. Seems like it will hold up for a very long time. ... show more

This bed is solid and beautiful. I purchased the King size. It made from real wood, not veneers. The golden color is lovely. It was a little tricky to assemble. The instructions did not highlight when to include the tiny washers and how to verify which side is up. Learn from our mistakes, the numbered stickers should be readable when right side up. We had to take apart several pieces to fix our mistakes making it feel like we built it twice. I do wish you could see the headboard more. It’s very short. We have no boxspring and an average height mattress. With pillows, you can no longer see the headboard. The plus here is that it makes the room seem taller. I love this bed. ... show more

This bed is solid wood! Seems extremely sturdy, like it will last a really long time. It's really a nice looking mid-century style design. I bought one a couple months ago for a guest room and decided to get one for myself, I liked it so much. It was really easy to put together. Second time around, I did it by myself in about an hour. The tool they give you to do the job is great. I'll hold onto that for sure. The only drawback I see is that I wish the headboard was a bit bigger. It's really low for a headboard if you have a box spring and mattress, or even just a really deep mattress. But otherwise, the look is great and I think it should last for a very long time. ... show more
