After reading the reviews, I purchased the EAB Tool Exchange-a-Blade 2100005 9-Inch Laminate Flooring Cutter. I also purchased a not so expensive tapping tool, mostly for the tapping mall. The reviewer's review said that they had problems with the cutting block cracking at the handle. I have used this tool on about twenty or thirty pieces of laminate flooring. I have found no problems with it. I just wonder if the guy was putting his full body weight on the handle, or perhaps jumping on it? I'm 72, over-weight (~190 lbs) and I am on oxygen; I have absolutely no problem with this cutter cutting (I did buy this on because it had an extension for the handle). It is very easy to use. I get more exercise putting the laminate down than I do measuring and cutting it! The other review said that the tapping pry bar was so thin that it bent. I would suggest that even the strongest steel will bend if it is hit hard enough. The other option was to purchass a 13 inch cutter. I purchased a 9inch cutter that works well for smaller laminate flooring. I am satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

    • This item is just okay, not for heavy duty use
This isn't a heavy duty flooring set but it did the job in a pinch when I was unable to find anything for snap together tiles at the local hardware store. Or did it and add it here in a few days. I will say that one side of the hammerhead broke about halfway through the job but I was able to make it through with the other side. I also dislike the angle only spacers that they provide as a square spacer would have done better, but it got me through. ... show more

I used this to install about 800 sq ft of laminate flooring. All the products were great except the spacers. These only are good if you remove the baseboards and are on a flat surface. Buy the upgraded spacers if you have baseboards. This was expected.

    • Necessary for LVP
These tools work perfectly for installing plank flooring. We've started a project to replace our entire house flooring and couldn't do it without this. The LVP planks are delicate at the edges where they seal. The block is intentionally made to avoid contact with it. Glad we bought this set.

Allowed me to slide locked in planks with ease and even lock in planks without tilting to the proper angle which was key around several tight spaces. Thought I ordered just to have for comfort but extremely happy I had it ready when I needed it.

    • Good kit if you’re installing LVP yourself

Do you absolutely need it? If you don’t have the metal bracket or the tapping block already - yes, most definitely you do! This kit will make the task much easier. I installed ~250 sq ft Coretec 1/2 inch thick LVP and I honestly would’ve had a difficult time w/o this kit. If you are a pro, you probably will have better tools anyways. The spacers are useful too. I was skeptical, but these came in handy at the edges and along the walls. Net net, IMHO the kit is worth the money. I recommend it. ... show more

So I just used this kit to install 1000sqft of laminate flooring. It did the job but...... Shims were flimsy and wish them came in some different sizes Paint came off the bar when using it Block could be a little thicker Other than those items the kit worked for me and I will use it again when I do more flooring in my house. ... show more
