This is my third one. My first was the best, but it was stolen out of my boat. The second one would not stay together, so we glued it together, and it was never right. The third one is also not fitting together right, but I haven't used it yet. The pole itself is great for my hands. It casts well and easy to use. It is a very comfortable pole. I wish they would put a little more effort into the quality and then put the price up a little. It's kind of a poor quality when it doesn't need to be. The fishing rod was put in the box with no insulation or packing material. It was banged around inside until it snapped off the tip of the rod. There was NO care or thought put into how to ship something fragile so it wouldn't break! It wasn't even in the manufacturer's original packaging. Very poorly packaged. ... show more

I watchef several reviews and went for it. Metal gears, prespooled with 4lb line. Its a fun fishing rod and reel. I always used spinning reels, tried bait castor and spin cast. Spin cast is my favorite. Left or right capable handle. Quiet and smooth.
