  • love it! much more powerful and rugged than a bmpcc 4k
The sensor is the same as the bm4k made by Sony, only a bit taller, color science is slightly better and this body is like a porcupine so it can be rigged without a cage. yes you need to unplug the silly hdmi when swapping battery because it's in the way but everyone uses the 3pin power connector to a V mount instead. you need a quality hdmi monitor for this camera or else you get too much latency. 160fps @4k is truly something special. in post I must admit that do miss braw a little but this camera's build quality... BM doesn't even come close. ... show more

  • It's a more expensive BMPCC4k
It has vey similar image quality to the Black magic pocket Cinema camera 4k, but needs significantly more rigging to be as efficient. If you are looking at this vs the black magic, get the black magic. If you are looking for a cinema camera, get the Zcam knowing you have a significant upgrade path leading to the full frame 6k sensor in the same body. ... show more

  • Possibly the worst camera out there.
If you are looking for a good camera for video work, I would steer clear of this! There are so many cons and issues with this camera. First the autofocus as absolutely terrible, so unreliable in fact, I would only use manual focus with this camera. It misses focus about half the time. Jumps to background at random. Fails to focus on the correct subject constantly. Two may be relatively inexpensive but requires thousands of dollars in accessories to use. For basic use needs a, monitor, expensive cfast card, side handle to grip the boxy camera and a lens. Three, the menu system is awful. So confusing and disorganized I can't even begin to describe how long it takes to find simple items. More cons. Cfast card door is very hard to open, needs knife or pry tool. Lacks any sort of image stabilization, has tiny 1 inch screen and settings menu don't show up on external monitor. Terrible in low light, can't fit on gimbal. If you are looking for a camera for video in this price range look at a GH5, A6600, or XT4 ... show more
