  • Good item, easy setup, minor design quibbles
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I bought this key to use this for Google, LastPass, and Duo MFA at my workplace and setting up and using it has been a positive, relatively simple experience. After using it for a few days, I will probably get the USB-A/NFC version for daily use and use this as my backup. My primary devices are a Pixelbook (two USB-C ports) and a Moto X4 running Android 9. The device apparently identifies itself as a keyboard when plugged into a port. Touching the gold/brass contacts on either side of the key inputs a string of cryptographic characters and a return. This is important because if you accidentally tap the contacts while in Gmail you'll get a bunch of new message windows pop up. I recommend not leaving the key plugged in when you're not actively using it because it is easy to bump the contacts accidentally, particularly while removing the key: they are where it's most natural to grip the key while pulling it out. Hopefully a future version could make these contacts a little less easy to bump unintentionally. Physically, it's small and doesn't add much bulk to my keychain, which I appreciate because I carry my keys in my front pocket and prefer my keyring to be as small as is practical. I am a little worried about lint and dust collecting in the connectors over time and degrading the connection, and am looking into options to cover the connectors. It seems like the most practical option for me is to keep the USB-A/NFC version on my keyring and use this USB-C key as my backup. It would be great in the future to see a durable, sealed USB-C version with NFC whose contacts can be covered while it's not in use. The Google, LastPass, and Duo instructions were clear and well-written. It takes a little bit of time the first time you set it up, and all of those services have some minor hiccups on the software UX side of things, but the Yubikey itself did everything it was supposed to. The only significant issue I experienced is that the Duo's web app used by my employer does not recognize the Android version of Chrome, which means I cannot use the key for mobile logins and have to use less secure and less convenient push notifications. All told, I'm happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Security that isn't complicated and still secure *wow*
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This type of security, secure and intuitive, is hard to come by. I don't have a setup on Windows. However, my linux setup could not be any easier and secure. - Passwords - Signing - Encryption Best part about this is that when any of my programs are like "hey, I want to access those passwords you got there..." the yubikey and my computer respond with "Let me **ASK** if that's okay" and then I can proceed to authorize the request or not. Just lovely. ... show more

  • Great 2nd factor security key.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I've used one of these to secure multiple MFA devices for a while now. This is easy to use, rugged and performs well. Some of the potential uses are a bit complex, but basic setup is OK as long as you follow the directions.

  • reliable and rugged
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
the most important thing about these devices is in my opinion longevity. both the physical and software standard. I use mine as a passkey. given yubico is a foremost provider, I'm confident in the software. only time will tell on the physical but mine has already survived a motorcycle crash...

  • YubiKey 5C - The best YubiKey if you do not need NFC (see review and photo).
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Review for YubiKey 5C. This is my 3rd Yubico YubiKey, I also have 2 of the YubiKey 5C NFC model. In my opinion, if you do not need NFC, the YubiKey 5C reviewed here is superior because (a) it is smaller and (b) the hole to attach the YubiKey to your keyring, lanyard, etc. is larger. I use the YubiKey 5C daily and keep the larger (NFC model) as backup. PLEASE NOTE the USB connector caps you see in the photograph are NOT supplied with the YubiKey, I purchased those from another company. APA 2023-June ... show more

  • Not 5C FIPS
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
While the Yubikey 5C is shown on Yubico website as a 5 FIPS key, this particular item is some older version that is NOT 5C FIPS, but apparently version 4? This really needed to be clear from the description by the Amazon yubico store, but is not. Because of this, was a waste of money for me, not usable for the secure login I needed it for ... show more

  • Works nicely.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Nothing to dislike. It married easily to my websites where I was using an authenticator app. The websites let me fall back to the G authenticator if my USB authenticator isn't with me/is missing. Odds are I'll have this USB device, or my phone with the G authenticator app on it. Or both. I'll get in. ... show more
