  • Very sturdy and easy to load and unload ebikes.
Size: Ebike Rack w/ Ramp
This rack is very sturdy and easy to load and unload ebikes. It folds up nicely and looks good when not in use on our camper. This works great for our two ebikes. The rack fits our 2" receiver a d tightens securely with no wiggle. The bikes secure well to the rack so we feel confident hauling our ebikes long distances. ... show more

  • TIE DOWN STRAPS & OTHER TIPS
Size: Ebike Rack w/ Ramp
I ordered it on a Sunday and it arrived the next morning. Right on, Jeff! The packaging was inadequate, but the scratches were limited to the bottom of one aluminum bike cradle. All of the parts were made correctly and lined-up, unlike what other reviewers had to deal with so this one was probably not made of a Friday. The rack is heavy duty and at 200lbs I can bounce up and down on it without flexing it. The pictorial instructions help and assembly was straightforward, but I've done a lot of mechanical work and have good tools. Using a "monkey wrench" as they suggest can get the job done but I recommend sockets and ratches or at least combination wrenches to help prevent scratching the paint, your knuckles and save time. It is not powder coated so be careful. I started assembly by mounting it in the receiver to make it assembly easier and given its weight I didn't want to lift it and try to align the holes in the receiver. Some folks don't like that the receiver pin is actually a threaded bolt, but the heavy bolt holds it tightly against the receiver eliminating receiver wobble. You can't use a lockable pin so I'm using a cable to secure it to the truck. A pair of bolt cutters and a wrench is all that's needed to steal it but in Chicagoland thieves get bigger bucks for catalytic converters and trucks have big ones. If you've got a narrower vehicle like a Subaru Outback the bikes are going to stick out well beyond the sides of the car. They even stick out beyond my full-sized pickup, but this may be an issue with any rack. I had read reviews with complaints that the tie down straps don't tighten and thought that's probably a misunderstanding on the part of the owner. When I mounted the first bike I was disappointed and thought they were right. But if you look at the picture of the center post tie down you can see that the strap is inserted in a way that looks backwards--opposite of the orientation that the center post strap clamps came from the factory. When I flipped the clamps 180 the straps held tight. So the factory folks don't get it right. It's better suited for fat tire bikes when it comes to securing the wheels. It works well enough on my Aventon Level.2's with 2.5" tires but I'm using the orange straps to help compensate for the inadequate rear tie-downs and to add an extra layer of safety on the front wheels. I had to bend the ramp clips to keep it from sliding off. The bikes are heavy and sit high so I carefully used the throttle to drive them up the ramp. I'm 6'2" but it's still challenging. Shorter folks may want to get assistance. Overall, I'm satisfied with it for the price. I didn't want to spend more than twice as much to get a high-end Thule or Yakima. It got better reviews then them anyway. ... show more

  • Perfect for our 80 Lbs Cirq Y1 Premier eBike with 4” fat tires & 58” Wheel Base
Size: EZ-FOLD Ebike Rack V1
I am not very mechanical and still found it very easy to assemble. Instructions suggest using a 300 mm (12" Monkey Wrench (which I had) and 2 Open Wrenches, a 17 mm (which we bought and it was used for all bolts but 2) and a 24mm BUT the 24mm wrench was expensive and we made due with a 2nd Monkey Wrench (there are only 2 bolts that big). Also the instructions made attaching it to the car Step 6 (the last step before loading on the bikes). I wanted to test how well the unit folded up right away so attached it to the car as Step 2 (right after attaching the bottom fixing bracket assembly to the rotating mechanism). I left it attached to the car for the rest of the assembly and found that made all the remaining steps, especially step #5, easier. We were concerned about our 58" wheel base and 4" wide tires but it fits fine. The carrier does not stick out wider than the car but our bikes do; the tires poke out 3-5 inches on each side. Nothing to be done about that except avoid tight squeezes when driving. One time going into an alley ... Oh I digress. The center poles are sturdy, the attachments adjust to meet the sweet spot for tie-down, so the bikes feel secure. Folded up, it sticks out less than a foot from the receiver and folded down, it sticks out 3 feet 1 inch. It's a well made unit and I am very happy with our purchase. ... show more

  • Solid, heavy rack for heavy ebikes
Size: EZ-FOLD Ebike Rack V1
I bought two 80+ lb ebikes (Ecells Five Star) so I needed a rack with adequate weight carrying capacity. Not feeling like spending upwards of $1,500 on one of the high-end racks, I researched and decided on this one. The center vertical support bars I believe provide the best stability vs the ones that have tire hoops only. It's a good fit for our Infiniti QX60 SUV and the rack allows only minimal bike movement when underway. I hardly notice any difference in driving dynamics. When folded up without bikes, there is plenty of clearance for the rear of the SUV. AMENDMENT 06/15/24: I see some reviewers state that the strap shackles do not work.... Well, TURN THEM AROUND 180 DEGREES and they will work. This continues to be a very solid bike rack IMHO and I recommend it for heavy ebikes. ... show more

  • Recommend but don’t trust the wheel straps
Size: Single Ebike Rack w/ Ramp
Pros: overall a great bike rack for my 70 pound fat tire e-bike. Drove 1,600 miles and rack worked great. The ramp is perfect and fits nicely on the rack when not in use. It is small enough that it doesn’t take up much room in the garage when off the car. Works great and well worth the cost. Suggest using the instructions on the manufacturer’s website to assemble. Cons: 1) The wheel straps. One did not work at all and they just don’t seem trustworthy. So, we used extra large zip ties to secure the wheels and seat. 2) I wanted to drive the car with the rack still on but the support rod just bounces up and down - there is no way to lock it in place without the bike in the rack. Zip ties to the rescue! ... show more

The bike ramp came quickly and went together with no problems. Fit and finish is high quality and works perfectly for my one bike, it holds it securely with no movement. Would definitely recommend this product.
