  • Seems to be a great value!
Only four stars for now as I have not out any of the bits in a router and cut wood just yet. I figured I would give these bits a try. I had to buy the set even though I already had a Grizzly 1/2" bit because the set made the cost per bit so low. I haven't tried cutting any wood yet, but they look well enough made. I took some pictured of the bits in their wooden box, a side by side with the Griz 1/2" bit, and measured them both. Interestingly enough, the half round that the Griz bit would make was approx 1/32" too large, while the Yonico is right on the money (see pics). Also, the Yonico bit had more carbide out on the outer extremities of the wings and the Griz had a tapered profile. The Griz had about 1/16" more depth of carbide at the root of the half round cutout though. Which will be stronger? I don't know. I will use them occasionally and not on a constant basis. It may boil done to who has better carbide and better welding techniques. As an aside, my bits came in a handy wooden box that will protect them nicely. HTH ... show more

  • Worth the long wait and great value - Thank you
It took one month to get to Australia from the US but when the routers finally arrived they were beautifully presented in a neat foam padded wooden box. I finally used the large 3/8" router for the first time yesterday and it cut very well. I would definitely buy Yonico routers again.

  • Not quite 3/4"
The finished cut on the largest bit was about 0.72" diameter instead of 0.75". Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind for projects. These bits were also overly difficult to remove from the box without risking damage to the wood box or the bit itself. I wish they spend a bit more on the storage box and make the bit holder pivot upwards rather than just be glued in place. The 1/2" shank provided plenty of stability in my 2HP router and vibration was minimal considering the amount of material these remove. ... show more

  • The set comes in a very nice wood box
First let me say that I am not overly experienced in the use of a Router and Router bits. The set comes in a very nice wood box, and I have use only one of five bits and it seemed to hold up just fine. The reason for the 4 star and not a 5 star was because on the outside of the manufactures box it indicates these must be used with a TABLE MOUNT only. Luckily I was able to make up a table mount to use with these bits. Maybe it is because these are the 1/2 inch shank. But whatever the reason, the information on Amazon should have indicated that these are to be used with a Table Mount only. ... show more

  • and I was happy with it overall
I just received this set last night, and immediately started to use them. I played around with the 1/4'' radius first and had no issues, it made clean cuts, and I was happy with it overall. I then installed the largest of the set, the 3/8'' radius in preparation to make some wooden hinges. I had a single piece of 3/4'' x 6'' x 12'' yellow pine for my test, so I ran approximately 4' of surface through the bit, before I noticed a yellow discoloration on the inside lip of the wood (where the barrel and leaf of the hinge would come together. This isn't a problem in itself, however, I noticed that the yellow coating on the bit had already started peeling off. I'm not sure that this will affect their usefulness, but, I did expect it to last a little longer before issues arose, especially with such soft wood. Only more time will tell how they perform in the long run. ... show more

  • Great value for the doe paid!
Thus far, with only using on hard maple, they didn't burn, nor splinter out, as the carbide is a good quality! I typically use freud only, but thought for the smaller project I needed just one of the bits to mill what I didn't have in my bit drawer already, for the price of the set, vs one bit from freud! No brainer! Unless after some fair amount of use proves otherwise, which after putting nearly 200 linear feet through on the 1/2" bit with no issues, so far so good! ... show more

  • Very good quality, Yonico bits are very nice
These are very well made bits for a very low price. I wouldn't buy these to use them constantly, but for a hobbiest that is going to used them moderately they are the ones to buy!
