UPDATE: We were able to get a replacement free of charge within a day of receiving the defective model. The new one works beautifully and we've been using it every night and nap for several months now. I will say that we keep it plugged in all the time, because it only lasts off the charger for 8ish hours and our little dudes sleep 12ish. We do love its compact size and find it really easy to grab and go if we're going to be traveling. I like the included strap, we use it to hang the unit from the closet door handle and that seems to distribute the sound well throughout the room. All in all, happy with our purchase! Received a defective product- did not work straight out of the box. I followed the instructions included in the packaging, and tried turning it on both on and off the charger. Nothing. Then when I tried to use Amazon's return/replace option I received a message that the item is not eligible for return, despite my account indicating it is eligible for the next 30 days. I have an email in to customer service and hopefully they will help me out. Hoping to replace this item with one that works since the reviews of the working model are good. This thing is a workhorse. We bought it 4.5 years ago for our first baby. It has been on for at least 15 hours a day for the last 4+ years, much more when our kid was a baby. Now we use it for baby #2. Probably about 4,000 hours of total run time. After so much use, ours has just started to have a little bit of static, so we’re back here to repurchase. It has a low, deep white noise that isn’t annoying to listen to. The volume can be turned up pretty loud and there have only been a handful of times where we wish it would have gone louder. It doesn’t get as loud as a bigger machine, but loud enough for our needs. If you’re trying to do a blackout room, just know that there is one light on the machine. It can be easily covered by a piece of tape if bothersome. Overall, highly recommend this white noise machine. It is great quality for the price and has really stood the test of time. ... show more

I love this sound machine but I bought 2. The one sound machine worked great, but when we went to use the second one, it worked fine for one night and then quit working. Unfortunately, we didn’t try the second one early enough and now the return window is closed! So bummed. Moral of the story. Buy just one or try both of them out longer than an hour.
