I just got this while out of town, got back today and even though it is a Christmas present I wanted to put it together and give it a test ride. If you are handy this is a breeze to assemble, it took me about 25 minutes to unbox and assemble it to the point of a first ride so you can adjust the handlebars,seat, etc. for the individual riding it. If you are not handy, this should be one of those things that make you feel good. Directions are decent outside of mounting the fenders, and if you look at the pics on the Amazon ad, that is what I did, it is a no brainer. I just gave it a quick test ride without doing the tires, went with the half full/flat pressure it shipped with. And I have no complaints yet, even hit 19.6 mph. Bike looks nicer in person, had a couple minor dings/blemishes (a ding that happened before it got painted, and a scratch in one of the graphics) All in all, great deal and very happy with assembly and test drive. I'll edit this with a longer term 6 month, or year from now, review. ... show more

Bike was fine the first couple weeks. Than it no longer was connecting to work. I did what the company asked me to do and the last message was they told me it’s not their problem and go to a bike shop myself. It made no sense. I did what they asked and we didn't even pin point the issue or get an idea. They were just short and flat and not their issue. I will not order from here again. Now I have a pos bike that don't work and its not even been used for three weeks. Glad Amazon is refunding me and I don't have to return the bike. I am not wasting my time to return nothing for the horrible service I was given. They give the run around and keep going until they are clueless or take responsibility. They also ask if wear and tear on the bike. Well duh...the bike is being rode. Did they expect it to be brand new? If you have worked with this company and they leave you high and dry as myself..talk to Amazon...they will refund you the bike with no return. Update: I took the bike to a shop and it’s the battery. I refuse to deal with MI Star here out. Their bike/battery is junk. They also came at me stating the pics showed wire issues. Lmao. The shop stated there are no wire issues and seen nothing to validate their response. The company just had nothing. They will tell you again to do your self a favor and take the bike to a shop. I told them to do themselves a favor and not sell junk. Glad I got a refund and am not having to send the bike back. Bum company. i got this for my dad as a christmas gift because he doesn’t have a car, he’s biked to work for 40 years (so he knows a lot about bikes) & this is his first electric bike. he loves it so much, he can get to work across town in only ten minutes. he charges it overnight & he’s good to go. he’s 60 so he was worried he wouldn’t know how to work it but he says it’s really easy to control the speed. i’m happy i made the perfect purchase !! ... show more

Good bike for the price except I am 5'10 and it's a smaller frame...battery doesn't last too long if you want to go on extra long rides. I do like the right throttle ...on the handlebar...if this was an xl frame and larger battery it would be awesome but like I said for the price it is a decent bike! ... show more

    • Not for bumpy mtb trails

It is a nice bike so far. It was about 60 to 70 percent put together in box so with that said it took me a little while to completely put together. Im alone with it and it was not super easy for just me being not great at putting things together. Im 5 ft 3 and fit the bike with seat all way down. This bike is not light but seems really sturdy. Very nice looking. Everything working great out of box. Had to inflate tires. Ive had bike 3 days and love it so far. Ive put about 5 miles on it. 100 percent happy so far. Keeping fingers crossed that i can maintain and keep it nice. Keeping in house. I do offroad trails so ill be keeping it clean and avoiding puddles and deep potholes in ground. But i know offroading is more difficult on bike. Keeping fingers crossed this one will survive light easy going trails:). Update: took on somewhat bumpy trail. Worked for few rides then went dead. Battery. The battery was questionable when i recieved it. You could here the battery sliding around inside case when you take it off the bike. So i opened the case and stuffed plastic bags around the battery to make it snug and not move around. This helped but battery still goes out when hit little bumps. I have to take battery off and put back on and it will start back up. This is a great bike i think for commuting in city but offroading not so much. Motor seems to do fine but battery too sensitive to bumps and cuts bike off. I guess im going to just invest in light weight mtb and go without ebike. Hopefully my old aching knees can still pedal a bike with no problems. Main reason got ebike is the ease of taking on hills. I like trail riding and i just think this one not good match for me. Lesson learned. This is a better bike for commuting on pavement and avoiding bumpy rides. I knew it was a gamble for what i wanted it for so im not upset. Update: i tried connecting with the company that sold me the bike and faulty battery to buy a new battery and they shunned me when i was offering to buy another battery from them when i should have asked for a new GOOD ONE from them to replace the faulty one i originally recieved. I reported them for ignoring me and they came back at me with info on how to purchase another battery but didnt give me any info on what kind of battery and also said only 1 left for sale. Their customer service and product has great potential but very poor in regards to who they are dealing with i feel. I feel i am getting a bad battery from the get go and bad customer service. Whatever reason i dont know. This is not 400 dollar bike for me but a 600 dollar bike AND they expect you to open the case of a lithium batter to fix a problem they sent to you. That is not safe. Bike is heavy very heavy but sturdy. Components are good for price. Battery was screwed with and faulty...not sure who will get a good one and who will get a bad one. Customer service not good. Ive got a bike with a faulty battery from get go. They wont tell me what kind of battery it is and wont let me buy one from them if they sell the last one. Something good i thought is starting to go sour. Update: Good bike if you dont get a faulty battery. I had to stuff plastic shopping bags in the battery case to keep the tampered with battery from shuffling around. I use bike for off road mild trails and it bumps a little. The battery was very rattly when i recieved and when i opened the case it looks to me as if part of the battery had been taken out. Bottom line the battery inside the case should not shuffle around.
