  • An Excellent tool
This seems like a good, solid performing rake. The handle, while being hollow to save on weight in shipping, is an excellent size, and it seems as though it will stand up well to heavy use. Of special note is the rake head. The rake head seems quite solid, and quite well made. The tines themselves seem flexible enough and are sufficiently wide to be able to be used for moving loose soil in a garden, for landscaping, and for leaves and grass of course. The rake is easily assembled, actually, make that fit together, as that is more what it is than assembling. The company even includes the bolt and the wrenches in a bag in the box. One other good feature with this rake is that since the handle is in sections, one can easily customize the handle length and make it fit to the customized preferred length that fits one's height. The tines on this rake have sufficient flex that enables the rake to be easily adapted to many uses. It works very well raking through grass, and raking leaves. It excels at that, however the individual times have sufficient temper, flex and strength so that they will be readily useable in soil as long as it is loose soil. No rake should ever be used to attempt to break sod or soil that has not been properly worked and first loosened. Since this rake head is quite durable one may be tempted to try to use it for things that a rake is simply not intended to be utilized on. In summary, this rake is an excellent rake that is definitely useable for many functions, particularly raking grass and leaves. It is sufficiently well made and durable that with even a modicum of care, it should stand up to many seasons of hard use. I also like the fact that the handle is metal, a lightweight aluminum, I believe, but that alone will make it more useable. First, it makes the entire rake lighter in weight, enabling greater maneuverability even for smaller people or for those who are older or have some level of infirmity or frailty. The other reason that I appreciate the metal handle is that I have had rakes with a good solid hardwood handle that within 3 seasons was developing slivers that compelled me to use leather gloves to avoid getting slivers. That will also be avoided with this rake. In summary, I do not hesitate in giving my full recommendation of this rake. It should serve you very well for many years. ... show more

  • Sturdy rake that keeps that yard looking tidy
This is a pretty hefty yard rake, and way better than the plastic ones. The head of the rake is made of steel and is quite heavy. Mine measures about 19.5" wide, which I think is a decent size. Even though it's painted steel, I wouldn't leave this outside or exposed to water as it will likely rust if left in a damp environment. Keep it in a shed or in a garage. There are no instructions, but it's easy to figure out how to attach the head. The head attaches using a bolt and a nylon nut. I put the bolt head facing down toward the ground so the nylon nut won't get damaged during use. The nylon nut is designed to resist loosening, so it's best to keep it out of harm's way. The handle is shipped in multiple sections, and fully assembled with all four sections it's 66.5" long. This gives a decent reach, which I like, but you can always leave a section out if it's too long for you. Overall, this is a fine yard tool for keeping things looking good, and your significant other in a good mood! ... show more

  • Long Handle for Leaf Removal from Roof
I broke my old metal-tine rake with wooden handle after about 20 years of use. I took a shot with this rake as a replacement and I am pretty happy with it. It is very lightweight so it is not a pain to use for an extended time. The one feature that I love is that the hand and rake is well over 6 feet long. As you can see form the picture, I am 6-feet tall and the rake is taller than I am. This is going to be perfect when I need to get on a ladder and get the leaves down from the roof where the angles meet and the leaves/branches get stuck during fall foliage. I am also going to give this a shot with raking some of my driveway gravel that gets pushed around during my winter plowing. Will update this in the spring after I try that. Very happy with this product and hopes it lasts 20 years as well. ... show more

  • Solid Rake with a Disappointing Design
This rake seems well-made with quality materials and was easy to assemble. It feels solid and sturdy, and I really like the long handle, which is great for reaching under bushes. However, the design of the rake head is a bit disappointing. When laying flat, all the tines touch the ground evenly, but in the raking position, only the center 60% of the tines actually make contact. The outer tines are lifted off the ground due to the longer center tines. I plan to bend the rake head to fix this issue. Overall, it’s a good rake with potential for improvement. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised by this rake.
I am happy to say this is actually a very functional rake. It is made with a lightweight handle that is twisted together. I thought it might work itself loose as I was raking, but after I completed the whole backyard. It held together perfectly. I like that it is so lightweight but still strong enough that you can use it to help bring the leaves to the trashcan. The metal head is the most important part. I like it better than the huge plastic one I had. Those big ones are a pain to store. I had room in my garage for this one, but if you don't you can easily disassemble the handle. That way you could fit it in a much smaller space. It is lightweight but works great and is made out metal. I am very happy with this one. ... show more

  • Long reach sturdy rake
This rake comes in 5 pieces that are easy to assemble. You have the option of using 3 or 4 pole segments which screw together. We used all 4 which makes the pole longer than any rake we've had in the past. The metal tubes are fairly light weight yet sturdy. The tines on the rake head are pretty sturdy and will be difficult to bend (unlike our prior rake). The surface of the rake pole is smooth metal as opposed to the wooden rake poles we've had in the past. This made for a different feel while raking, but we quickly got used to it. A plus might be that blisters will be less likely when doing a lot of raking. Overall, we're happy with this rake. ... show more
