  • Top of the line prebuilt
Style: i9 13900KF | RTX 4090
At the start: Amazon day, big discount. Next , I put my order in because it’s like getting the processor for free. Then my Amazon account is frozen, large purchases… call Amazon and prove I am the account owner and I did purchase this item, Amazon verifies me by asking past purchases and stuff I have saved for later. Luckily I remembered. So now we are good with Amazon. The supplier of this awesome system the tries to collect. Text message from my card I used for payment, we have stopped what looks like a fraudulent transaction… type yes if this is not fraudulent. Yes. I put the purchase order in on the last day of Prime day. The seller tried again on Sat. Finally on Monday the seller tried to run payment again. It went through and said delivery is scheduled for Thursday by 10pm. Finally. It’s on its way. It comes from Amazon shipping, looks like it starts in California. Refresh a billion times because the amount of money that’s involved. Thursday is here, I now know a signature is needed. Do I go to work as normal? Or fake it. Refresh again. Item to be delivered between 3-6pm . I go to work. Refresh between times. Items to be delivered 5-7pm. What’s going on? I then tell my job I need to go home early because I have an important delivery today and need to be there because they need my signature. So now I’m home. Refresh. Supposed delivery driver is really close to my home. Refresh. Then to my surprise the delivery vehicle pulls in front of my home. Thanks, sign here. Couldn’t sign fast enough. Let’s get this thing unboxed. It’s packaged well. I got it out and my goodness, that’s a big Rtx 4090. I opened the glass and removed the packing material bag. Nothing looks off or damaged. I then hooked up keyboard, mouse, cam, and 45” LG ultra gear 3440x1440p monitor, which I bought a display port 2.1 cord from Amazon before arrival. This PC fired up flawlessly. This is the I9 13900kf with a gigabyte rtx4090 and 32gb of ram model. Absolutely speechless in performance. After loading my games from my previous PC. 3770k + GTX 970 ti 16gb ram. This rig absolutely destroys anything I throw at it. If you have the scratch for this model, it’s a no brainer. As of right now, 4 days into ownership, I am very satisfied of my purchase. YEYIAN has truly made a worthy prebuilt PC. ... show more

  • Obnoxiously loud, bios constantly picks the igpu instead of the 4090 during reboots
Style: Ryzen 9 7950X | RTX 4090
AMD Ryzen 7950X, ASUS TUF RTX 4090 OC Edition, ASUS Prime X670-P Wifi. While the PC does work, it's got some issues and it has taken me two days of troubleshooting to sort the problems out (or at least identify where the problems are). For what it's worth, I've been building pc's 25+ years. I was in a time crunch, so I opted for a pre-built. Lesson learned, never again. First and foremost, is the lack of a GPU support bracket / standoff that: A) Supposedly comes with the card. B) Is mentioned specifically in the included documentation. C) Should be a no-brainer with a card this big and heavy. Seriously. Not including it is a shady, unprofessional move and isn't the best business strategy to use if you ever want repeat business. Now, I will state that the packaging is quite good, with double boxing and a foam insert in the chassis. Nice that it arrived in one piece! The pc is pretty well laid out with tidy wiring that's tied off, and with no obvious signs of scratches or leaks (cpu is liquid cooled). Everything was buttoned down with no loose or incorrectly installed components. Nice, and is the one area that this pc shines. However, the motherboard is an Asus Prime X670-P variant, which means budget, which means less than urgent bios development / fixes, which brings me to the most annoying point. The bios constantly picks the Ryzen's integrated gpu as the main display device instead of the pci RTX4090 (and to forestall the inevitable, YES, the display is hooked up to the Geforce display port and not the motherboard i/o, duh). This means every time you reboot, the bios will choose the wrong gpu, send the display signal to the motherboard's display port instead of the dedicated gpu, and you'll be left staring at a black screen wondering what the heck is going on. This is either 'early adopter tax' and there are compatibility bugs to work out, or it's something more serious. In any event, how this passed inspection is beyond me. Unless no one thought to maybe hook up the display to the RTX4090 (like everyone would want) and reboot, once. Because if they did, they'd have noticed it. Changing the gpu priority in bios, or outright disabling the igpu does nothing to address the issue. Changing to CSM boot option doesn't work either as the bios just hangs, puts it back to default, and then proceeds to use the motherboard's display port. Again, this system is buggy as heck and is not ready for prime time. Anyway, once you finally do get it up and running, it performs as expected. Just be prepared for: Ridiculously loud fans. The chassis fans are connected to the fan controller, which the bios cannot see, so no way to throttle them down. You get the cpu fan and pump speed curves, and that's it. The included Armoury Crate utility can't see or adjust the chassis fans either, and the utility is hot garbage in every other respect. This one is on Asus for designing this sub-par application. The gpu fan(s), even with just the center fan only, it's over 40 decibels. The overall noise footprint of the entire system is north of 57 decibels, at idle. Under load, it's absurd at 70+ db. For comparison, my wife's hairdryer is under 50 db on med speed. So, while I did get it running, it's loud and buggy as heck, which are not ideal attributes for a system that costs four grand. I should have saved ~ 500 bucks and built my own (and that's with a Lian Li case) and avoided this configuration like the plague. caveat emptor ... show more
