  • After 7 months of scalp problems, this finally fixed it.
Style: Shampoo
Usually during the winter, I get dry scalp from the cold weather in my area. This year however, was the worst it's ever been, and for some reason, my dry scalp persisted even as the weather got a lot warmer. In addition, my scalp was super itchy this year, which had never happened before. I tried so many shampoos, anything from neutrogena t-sal, head and shoulders, a garnier fructis tea tree shampoo, aveda balancing scalp shampoo, exederm, apple cider vinegar rinse, etc. and none of these products worked, or only fixed one of the problems (aka relieved the flakes but did nothing for my itchy scalp, and vice versa). My scalp was itchy, flaky, red and irritated from my scratching despite the warm and humid climate I was in. Sometimes it made it hard for me to fall asleep because it was so itchy. I decided to try this product since I saw it was targeted specifically towards dry and itchy scalp. I washed my hair with it for the first time and saw immediate results. It doesn't say to shampoo twice, but I did the first time because after my first lather, my scalp still felt a little itchy and I didn't get a very strong tingly sensation from the tea tree oil. After my second lather, the menthol and tea tree oil immediately soothed all my itches and I got that strong tingly sensation that I love about tea tree oil. I let it sit in my hair for a couple minutes before rinsing out with cold water. And after I let my hair air dry, I found that my scalp was not itchy AT ALL and the dryness/flakiness drastically improved (not completely resolved though, but I'm sure as I continue to use it it will get better). My hair also felt lighter and softer, which is great considering all the other shampoos I have been trying have dried out my hair. I also love the herbal scent of this shampoo, a drastic improvement from my apple cider vinegar rinse leftover smell. Although I only used this one time, I was too excited about the results to not write a review immediately, since I finally found a shampoo that soothes my dry scalp. I'd definitely say to give this shampoo a try if you're hesitant, and its relatively cheap compared to all the other expensive shampoos that claim to resolve scalp problems. ... show more

  • Shake this shampoo!
Style: Shampoo
I love this shampoo, but I'll start out by saying, "Shake it before each use!" One thing that I noticed about this shampoo is when you first use a new bottle, it comes out super watery and runny. But then when you get to the end of the bottle, the shampoo comes out very thick and jelly. In order to get the right consistency I noticed that you have to give it two shakes before using the bottle. Otherwise, this shampoo is great! It will help get off hair product and excess oil without leaving your scalp feeling dry and thirsty. The shampoo has a great smell and it helps reduce some irritation on my scalp. ... show more

  • Sodium lauryl sulfate
Style: Shampoo
Anybody wanting to avoid Sodium lauryl sulfate should avoid this shampoo because what it uses instead "Sodium Coco Sulfate" is basically the same thing and maybe just as bad. Google it! I only noticed after I had used, wish I could return.

  • Note of Caution: product received in late December 2019 appears to have mold
Style: Shampoo
My family and I only use (high-percentage) natural, sulfate-free shampoos. However, I recently noticed my go-to brand contains the preservative potassium sorbate, which when it comes into contact with citric acid (vitamin C) can cause cancer (thus the Prop65 flagging if one lives in the state of California). I was shopping for a replacement daily shampoo when I placed my recent order. Yes To's 98% natural ingredients list caught my eye. And, whilst I wasn't particularly in the market for a shampoo that targets scalp issues, I liked that the shampoo contains the natural antibacterial/antiseptic ingredients tea tree and sage. Unfortunately I am unable to use the bottle that was recently sent to me in fulfillment of my order placed on December 23, 2019 because there appears to be brown/tan colored mold on the bottom of bottle (lot #602373LV2). Picture attached. It's disconcerting to say the least as the bottle doesn't have a printed expiration date or printed date of manufacture. However, from looking at other consumer-provided pictures, their bottles of shampoo appear newer/fresher in that the shampoo's formula looks perfectly clear. The shampoo I received is a dingy yellow by comparison and contains brownish/tannish colored mold(?) at the bottom. Customer service was professional and took care of the issue fairly quickly. I've thrown away the bottle I received and won't be re-ordering because I don't feel comfortable/safe with the lack of quality control at the storage facilities. Thought I'd leave this note of caution in case other customers might be interested in trying/ordering Yes To Scalp Relief Tea Tree & Sage Oil Shampoo around the same time (i.e. early January 2020). p.s. a note to those who have color-treated hair: in my hurry I didn't realize Yes To's shampoo contains Coco-Glucoside. In my experience, this particular foaming/cleansing agent fades hair dyes quickly - not recommended for color-treated hair. ... show more

  • It’s a keeper!
Style: Treatment
I love this pre-shampoo treatment! It has relatively few ingredients that I can actually pronounce! And IT WORKS!I I haven’t felt itching in the two days that have passed since my first use. Easy to apply and easy to rinse out before shampooing. I have tried Briogeo Scalp Revival, which is expensive and doesn’t do much; and NatureLove Apple Cider Vinegar Scalp Scrub, which is gummy and difficult to rinse out; and the scrubbing pellets keep falling off without having done anything. ... show more
