    • Swift works well! Yarn winder is a bit loose.
The swift works really great, smooth spinning and easy to set up and take down. I bought this for the swift and I am very happy with it. The yarn ball winder works. But the metal guiding hook keeps falling to one side or the other. It only stays upright when it's fully extended, but easily gets pushed back in and falls over again if the winding pauses. If you have a table with two overhanging edges, you should set up the swift and winder on two different edges. My table only has one overhang, so the swift and winder are parallel and it is not as efficient as it could be this way. You are also limited to the table width. If you have a thicker table, the winder will not fit so pay attention to the listed dimensions. The winder is also not easy to store, I don't know how they packed it, but I cannot get it back in the box it came from. (Both the swift and winder have their own small boxes for easy storage... except the winder won't go back in.) The yarn cakes that come off the winder feel a little delicate, but once you let the yarn ball settle for a little bit, it will hold onto itself. I recommend this product. ... show more

I needed this for my crochet passion. It was great at first, but it gets stuck often. Not sure if this is my fault or the quality of the item.

    • Best bargain for swift and ball winder!
It was in sturdy packages, which I can re-use for storing when not needed. Very easy to adjust and use immediately. I cranked the hell out of the winder, frankly, but it gave solid performance even with delicate yarns. The yarn swift spun easily, little cranking is needed once you get things rolling. I can see I won't need to buy another of these for many years to come unless I lose it, lol. The ball winder yields a small to medium ball only. For thicker yarn, or even large lots of fingering weight yarn, I can see I'll need a jumbo ball winder. Since I mostly work in lace or sock yarn, it's fine for me, but maybe not for everyone. ... show more

Love this! I have lots of yarn and this works so fast. Once you get the yarn hooked on the skein holder you just wind your yard up. The winder puts it in neat little balls. Very easy to use.
