  • Yard turf lawn rake
Style: 60 Inch
Seems like a well made product that will last a long time. I would have given it a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the missing instructions and a damage rim on one of the tires do to piss poor shipping which seems to be a continuing issue with the delivery service Amazon uses USPS,FEDEX and UPS.

  • Works but needs modifications for differing terrain
Style: 60 Inch
Have a new 5 ac forested parcel with lots of pine straw and scrub oak leaves/debris to clear and looking for a time practical method to clear so we thought we'd give this a try. Box came a bit busted up, and was missing the spring. Company sent me another one in a matter of days. Yes, there are a lot of parts and the instructions aren't so great, but I got through it without husband's help. :-) The holes for the final handle construction were the wrong size for the bolts sent (no I didn't put wrong ones somewhere else in the rake - we both double checked), but a quick trip to the hardware store took care of that. Read through these reviews and was ready with a sturdier chain and hooks, as well as the rope for easer handle grabbing. Some chipping of the paint on the handle occurred when installing bolts. Maiden voyage was this past weekend. I think that this may work differently on grass than on my forest floor terrain. We ended up adding a 4 ft log to the unit to weigh it down. That seemed to work much better for our terrain after trying several other approaches. Perhaps in grass this would not be necessary - just play with it to suit your terrain needs. Using behind a 850 atv, so speed was a definite factor when picking up things. Just go slow. It did the job as promised and made me realize that this is a much bigger job than I initially anticipated, and now I can see that this tool is a must for us! If you have a hugely neglected plot of land, just know that this may take some time and many passes to really get your area truly cleared. Think I will try to wire a chicken wire screen on the back of the tines to help with the litter from going through them as much. Also, if on forested floor, what are you going to do with the land once cleared? Without this debris, you will have lots of free soil to blow around and get into your eyes and structures. We plan to seed with wildflowers and drought tolerant grasses in various areas, so just maybe think of the end game ahead of time. I think I have a full summer of every other weekend raking to do over this large parcel - couldn't do it without this rake though. Definitely worth the money - solidly built despite the paint chipping a bit and would buy again. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Could be heavier
Style: 72 Inch
Had to weigh down the tines to make an effort. The hey don’t always stay down and had to make several passes just for leaves and pine needles. SMH

  • Rake
Style: 60 Inch
Product seems well made, but- one tire is smaller then the other! They both have same numbers, don’t match. One is 11” high, the other one is 13. This will not work, tool has to be level when being used. I haven’t been able to contact maker yet.

  • Works ok needs modification
Style: 60 Inch
This is perfect out the box if your ground is completely level and nothing more than small sticks and pine needles. After a few uses the handle started to warp and a spike broke off. I added 2 20 lbs weight and strapped a log to the top so the leaves wouldn’t fall out.

  • Lightweight for the garden, not for the field
Style: 60 Inch
The build quality is very good, with quality parts. Use a sawhorse to assemble, and separate all parts into groups for ease of identification. Like most people have stated, the design may work specifically for straw needles, but poorly on anything else like small pine branches, needles and cones (passes right through the tines). Its light weight doesn't allow the tines to engage the ground for thatching or raking debris, unless very heavy concrete blocks are strapped to the unit. Even then, it is insufficient for what you would expect it to do. Takes up a lot of storage space. ... show more

  • Not functional for debris clean up
Style: 60 Inch
. I purchased this unit for my horse farm to drag through sticks, Spanish moss, and miscellaneous leaf debris after hurricane Ian. Unfortunately, the tines are too wide apart, and the rake in general is too lightweight ( which is ironic as the unit weighs close to 100# total) to adequately do this job. Perhaps it might work on pine straw… But it is absolutely useless on the debris and for what my needs are. As a side note…After receiving this rake, I recognized that it was overall heavier and going to be more difficult for me to put together than I could accomplish on my own. So I had to hire a mechanic to put it together and it took this man a little over 2 hours. The seller did offer to either return the unit at my expense or a refund of $105 (which is what it would have approximately cost me to return it) if I kept it. I accepted that offer and used the money to pay the mechanic. ... show more

  • Watch a video along with using the instructions
Style: 60 Inch
I'm confused by the rating on "light weight". I would see it being light as a disadvantage on a tool like this. I was concerned that it wouldn't be "heavy" duty enough for what I would use it for. All of the videos I watched on it's use showed it being used on flat ground for pine needles. And of course, it is a needle rake. But I was going to use it on a field after I'd cut wild grasses including Bunch grass and I was worried that the tines would bend. They did not. But- the whole thing would bounce over the bigger bunches sometimes. Although the grasses seem to intertwine as they roll and it does end up wound up in the tines to where I had to push it downward and off the tines. A negative issue I had is that my field is not completely flat so some of the grass just gets pulled into, and lay in the depressions. But it did work and I was pleased with the strength of the build. One major suggestion is to find one of the few videos on putting it together because the instructions and it's illustrations are not great and there are two or three mistakes you can make that will require that you take some things back apart to finish. ... show more
