  • Just WOW..
We purchased this rack the beginning of winter and let's just say it's held up through a couple of mishaps. The 2nd time we used it, we were in the driveway and the kids were removing their snowboards. Silly me, I assumed they closed the rack so that I can pull into the garage. I start to pull in and next thing I know, we hear a loud noise. I get out and see the boys didn't put the rack down and so both racks were sticking up when I went into the garage. Of course, I'm freaking out thinking it's damaged and unusable. My husband looked it over and said it seems to be ok. The 3rd time we used it, I'm freaking out thinking the rack is going to fly off but thankfully it held up. Phewww. We ended up having to replace our garage door opener since it died. The new opener was put in and for some reason, when I was pulling in, the sensor acted up and the garage door started to go down onto my roof while I was pulling in. Crash it goes.. Yup I broke our garage door (we had to replace it) but you know what saved my car, the roof rack. LOL. Yup the roof rack held up through both mishaps. So needless to say, this item is sturdy and reliable. :o) ... show more

  • Great product but would like some changes
Overview: When this product arrived, I got very excited to use it. I mostly use it at the end of the day to avoid snow melting in my car and getting everything wet. Product looks durable, well made, and a sleek design. Pros: Fits lots of skis and snowboards! Easy to clip and unclip with the convenience of locking. Securely hold the gear without any movement. Cons: Slight wind noise but not terrible. Unable to lock the rack to my car rack. I would love a latch where I could you my own padlock to prevent theft. The screws a very long but I understand why. It is just annoying to take the rack on and off. Conclusion: Worth the purchase? Yes, but there are some things I would like to improve. ... show more

  • I never write reviews but…
This item is great. EASY to install. Keys/locks work GREAT. REALLY GOOD price in my opinion. I actually use these to hold my fishing rods. I can easily fit 6 surf rods on here no problem.

  • A good rack for the price
I would have rated the installation component higher had the clasps that attach the ski rack to the crossbars on my 2021 Toyota RAV4 been a bit longer. As it was it was more of a chore to properly attach the ski rack. The crossbars on my vehicle are on the wide end of what the ski rack is intended to fit to. I was surprised at the reduction in gas mileage on my hybrid RAV4 after installing the ski rack — from 40 mpg to 35 mpg. This is a rough estimate that may not be completely accurate due to wind conditions that may have been prevalent before and after I installed the ski rack. ... show more

  • works, but has plastic components
Installed these on my 2022 Subaru Outback Limited onto the integrated factory crossbars. Fit perfect & snug enough to feel confident transporting my snowboards. No issues whatsoever, and it worked as intended - secured my 2 snowboards on a 6 hour round trip to Tahoe. Majority of the components are plastic, which still has me skeptical on the sturdiness, security, and longevity of this snowboard rack. First time using, it did feel really sturdy and that my boards were secure. They didn’t move from the initial position, but I made sure the rack clamped as far as it could go. Call me paranoid, but I also bungeed the rack just in case, to precent it from opening. I’ve seen people tether boards as a safety measure as well. It’s just been one trip to snowboard and I plan on going a bunch more times this winter season. I think they’ll hold up just fine. ... show more

  • Good for the Price
Bought this because it was a cheaper option. Works as advertised. I have it on my 2021 Outback. Driven on highways going 75 mph and it's held up. Super easy to install, should fit a wide variety of racks as well with the adjustable mount. Took probably about 20 min to assemble and put on the car. Only knocks on it is that it is definitely not aerodynamic. I knew it would create some wind resistance, but there is wind noise when you go above 40 with a empty rack. I also wish some more of the components were metal instead of plastic. Overall its fine and does what it is suppose to. But give it 4 stars for those 2 reasons. Looking back, I wish I would have paid the extra money for the low profile version, but overall happy with it. ... show more

  • Yakima Rack
It works great, easy to use and install. A bit worried about leaving it overnight since I park on the street in Boston but so far no issues. My only problem with it is that there is no way you could ever fit 6 skis unless they were children’s sized. Fitting four (sized 87-95 underfoot) is all you can get. The picture that shows it taking up the full roof of the 4Runner is inaccurate as it takes up about 80% of the roof of my Subaru outback. ... show more
