YAKATTACK VISIPOLE II GEARTRAC READY LIGHT WITH FLAG Light on 3/8" Fiberglass mast with a floating base. Manufactured from domestically manufactured 3/8" fiberglass tube. Permanently attached to the light and the base. With a height of 4'-6" tall, you will truly be visible from 360 degrees. In situations where a 360 degree white light is not necessary or required, the flag can be slid over the light, creating a soft glow that is less likely to attract bugs or spook fish, while maintaining some level of visibility to others around you. This technique is not recommended for environments in which powered craft may be present. I purchased this light pole approx 2 years ago, have literally used it once during that time. Imagine my dismay when I attempted to use it again recently and it had completely corroded. Clearly water had entered the battery and light compartment during that 1 use. Really unacceptable for a single use, essentially garbadge now.     • Good flag, but a bit pricey
I think this is a good flag solution and the fact that it goes right into the H-rails of my 2019 Hobie Outback is really nice. It is a bit pricey for a flag and a light, but I knew that when I bought it. The quality is excellent but I would not call this a great deal at this price. I will say that if I lost it I would probably buy it again, and grumble a little at the price when I did. ... show more

It's a stick with a light on the top, and did I mention it's quite tall. It's only claim to fame is that it uses the track lock system to attach and detach. The upsides its tall at nearly 4 feet it sits well above you so if boating at night the light is quite visible 360 degrees around you. The flag attachment is also good when boating on rivers and lakes with power boats providing better visibility and safety. the bad... It's a single piece! so there is no chance to store it in any of the compartments of the boat when not in use. It would be nice if it came as a two piece unit but alas no. In the event of ocean kayaking and having to bail out. you'd have to remove the pole and then store it on the deck before doing a cowboy reentry. Most people would say just roll the boat but always that is not a possible answer, so not having a quick method of detaching it and tossing it into the cockpit to sort out later is a big drawback. ... show more

    • Why Flag Assembly?
I am always stunned when a product that could be so simple is designed with poor engineering. The flag, which could easily come preassembled on the solid pole, instead has small plastic clamps (finger snaps) that immediately fell part as soon as I tried to stretch out on the flag pole. I spent 10 minutes trying to snap the clamp back on and then 15 minutes more assembling a tie wrap around each clamp so it would not pull off in the wind (which is sure to happen). Poor design and even worse quality mgmt. Bottom line...keep it simple and ship with preassembled flag instead of customers wasting time with cheap accessories. ... show more

this was a great buy , tho a bit pricy , the light worked perfect at night , it throws off a nice dim glow on to your kayak , water police gave me thumb up so that's a plus . the flag worked like a charm , visible for others in the water , I purchased two and both worked great . very happy with both flag and light . ... show more

    • Quality not there - copper piece inside for the battery was a tad too short
I support made in USA, but my light did not work due to the negative contact on the led light not contacting the negative copper inside. I had to open up the light. Take the one piece copper battery piece out and extend it by 1-3mm. After I did that the light worked as it should. Instead of returning it because I need it for our beach trip. This review would suffice or return it within the return period. If they could send me the longer copper piece inside I would up the review. ... show more

    • Lights of the sky. On switch is high up.
Works great for night time fishing. The darker the sky gets the brighter the light is. I wish there was a way to have the on off lower. If I put it in the back of the the Kayak I don't feel super secure trying to turn it on on the top. It fit into the rod holder on my Lifetime is excellent or the track on my Pelican. However it's such a good fit in the life time it's hard for me to remove to turn the light on top. I'm way to chicken to rock the boat to much. Again I'd love to see a design the has the on switch more within my reach. ... show more

It’s good but has some flaws. The stock light isn’t very bright so I had to upgrade that. The flag holder bungee cord system broke day 1 and in had to use braided line to tie it in place. Other than that though I really do like the product. It lasts for a very long time without changing batteries and it is solidly built other than the flag bungees ... show more
