  • Good Product overall
did try with 9 eggs and it was successful. There is not much information on the product , how to use ? when to use the water but I guess we can google that. Product overall is good , just pricy valuewise.

  • No humidity display or alarm
The ad reads "YaeCCC Egg Incubator, Automatic Egg Hatching Incubator Temperature Control Humidity Display...". This is misleading as there is no display of the humidity. The ad further states "alarm of over temperature and humidity...". There is an over temperature alarm but there is no alarm for humidity. I tested the incubator using two desiccant packs which dropped the humidity into the low teens. The unit never indicated an issue with humidity nor was any information found in the manual regarding such an alarm. Several Internet reviews indicated that the temperature display was substantially lower than the actual temperature inside the incubator. Two different thermometers were used to monitor the temperature. The probes were tethered to the unit's thermal probe to ensure the temperature was monitored in the same location. The external thermometers correlated to each other at ~3-3.5C lower than the display. There is a 'calibration measurement temperature' setting (P0) on the unit but it only ranges from -2.0 to +2.0. Please note, setting the parameter to -2.0 caused the unit to heat erratically so it was set to a different value (purposely excluded from this review as your milage may vary). The internal temperature was still low so both the temperature setting and the high temperature alarm (P1) were altered to allow the unit to stabilize at 37.5C (quail eggs). Another oddity was observed on 3 different occasions where the temperature display went well above the set temperature for a few seconds then went back to the normal display. The separate, digital thermometer did not fluctuate so this appears to be a software glitch which affects the display but not the unit's operation. The turner works but the quail eggs migrate down to the geared end of the turner despite the unit being on a solid, level surface. Perhaps chicken or larger eggs will not experience the same issue. It's too late now to fuss with things so I'll make note and possibly add rubber bands around the rollers next time around to see if that prevents the issue. Pros: - inexpensive, basic incubator - external access to add water - note a little water increases RH dramatically so add in moderation and use the vent Cons: - misleading ad as the unit does not have humidity monitoring or alarm capability. - very poor temperature accuracy. An accurate temp / humidity gage is required to assess the actual conditions otherwise you risk losing the entire egg set. - missing items. I received (2) misting bottles but no sprayer /cap. - the audible beep is unreasonably loud even for an old farmer with too many years around noisy farm equipment Bottom line, I would not recommend this unit especially for beginners. Additional note: I reviewed some videos where the user sprayed water into the vent hole. Please, if you do end up with this unit, do not do this as the fan & control electronics reside below the vent. Spraying water on a live circuit is a very bad practice! Peace to all... ... show more

  • Great starter
There are no instructions but I found some good ones on YouTube I hatched out 9 of 18 my first time. Not bad for trial and error. 5 didn't seem fertile.

  • Worst incubator, dangerous for poultry
Bought this to incubate 12 chicken hatching eggs. I had the auto rotator disconnected 3 days before hatching. One of my chicks was walking around with the rest of them and fell on top of the rotator bar (the yellow piece not the rotating bars the eggs sit on) and her foot got stuck beneath it and in her attempt to get free one of her toes was ripped right off. I attempted to contact customer service and received no response whatsoever. Do not recommend as this is not a safe product for any type of poultry hatchlings Update: decided to try to use this incubator again and took out the rotator bar to make sure it didn't rip off any more toes. Outside of that I haven't done anything to it. The fan on top stopped working (we've got 4 more days until this new batch of eggs hatches) one of the blades came clean off when I opened the incubator lid to see if there was dog hair or something else obstructing the fan. Nothing was obstructing it. The blade had come off and that was the issue. Thank goodness I bought a different incubator last week because I've now had to move these eggs to our new incubator (not this one and not from this seller). I'm tossing this one in the trash and calling it quits. ... show more
