  • Clear sound with attenuated hi freq, may cause interference on some mixers
The setup is intuitive, solid link quality, and sounds clear with noticeable attenuated hi frequency. 1) Strong interference when being plugged into Zoom L-8 mixer, with supplied TRS to XLR adapter. The mid frequency humming was evident throughout all input/outputs and R2 receiver, this can render electronic guitars unusable, and very annoying noise for IEM purpose. All close by cables can be interfered, your can check this by moving around cables around U2 transmitter. 2) Marginally acceptable interference when being plugged into Zoom L-8 XLR output (w/o supplied TRS adapter) The mid frequency humming was greatly reduced, no as annoying as thru TRS adapter, acceptable for band practicing IEM However it is unacceptable for recording purpose, the humming was still too prominent. 3) Extend the transmitter via an extension cable (TRS /XLR) away from signal cable and mixer can cure this issue A 30 cm extension wire can cure the issue, deliver clear sound. The interference is somewhat due to the interoperability between a all-plastic shielded Zoom L-8 Mixer. However, this can also be possible when you place the transmitter close to any instrument cable with high output impedance, and/or poorly shielded cables. After some some trials and tweaks this product did shine out its versatility and quality, at a sweet price point. ... show more

  • Works great for wireless monitoring!
This works great and battery life is plenty for a couple rehearsals or shows before recharging. I only use one receiver at time and keep the other for backup. Sounds great and works great. Very easy to use. My only complaint is that the power switch flips on way too easy and constantly turns on even stored in the storage pouch in my music gear backpack. Gonna have to get some tape on that or something.... ... show more

  • Literally the best option out there
I bought a $179.00 XTUGA wireless in-ear monitor system a few months ago. Reviews were great. But the item was not. The packs were cheap plastic, and more importantly, I was having volume/signal issues. I bought these hoping they would save me from having to buy something like a $1000 shure system, and "shure" enough, these XVives are absolutely killer. They're built like a tank, hold great battery, and the best part is they've saved me space. Other systems, you have to carry around a big box receiver and hook up cords. With this, it's plug and play. The only downside, is I hear a high pitched signal coming out, which get a little annoying. When I place my hand over the item, the noise goes away. Still working on solving that, but its worth having a reliable and convenient product like this that I can count on. ... show more

  • Great monitor!!
Okay, we bought this last june. We've been gigging with is every weekend for my son/bassist. Starting with why only four stars instead of five? Battery life. It's enough to get through the gig, but I'd rather it be quite a bit longer. Because, you know, batteries wear after a while, and I'm sure eventually the battery life won't be long enough, but so far so good. We carry the charger in case we need to charge between sets. Son also got a backup battery for phones, and is using it for that. He sometimes forgets to charge it before we go to the gig. Now the good stuff: Small, easy, as in simple to set up and use. Sounds fine, although mono only, mostly that's all that's needed for live monitoring anyway. It's smaller than the battery pack version of wireless receivers, which is great. Less weight, I believe. Haven't actually measured, but it has so much less mass, surely? Good enough range for what we're doing. Haven't had any interference, drop outs, nothing. Never heard a single complaint about anything from Son/bassist. Our LEAD SINGER's (other brand) wireless failed last night, and because we bought the version with TWO receivers, the show went on. They just shared one monitor mix. She will be ordering one TODAY. This is a highly recommended way to purchase. You could even have the second receiver as a "battery extender" should the first one not make it through the gig, while the transmitter can be used while plugged in. Pardon my paranoia about battery life, but it's a potential issue if you're gigging for money. Totally recommend this unit. Not only "would buy again," but WILL buy again. We also bought miniature hard shell cases for uber-protection, because, protection. ... show more

  • Purchased these for my band members and they love it
The media could not be loaded. My Rhythm Section loves having in ear and these are really easy to use. I charge them up before a show and I'm fine. Generally I will charge them a little bit extra on break though I don't know that I need to. We often play 3-hour shows. The guys love the sound quality. • Iss ue s!
I have used these at my church for three years now. The first couple weeks were great and my musicians were excited to get them but since then we have had issues. The two main issues is the breaks or pauses during performances and the other is static. I have done all the troubleshooting. Even bought a brand new mixer and still didn’t help. It’s not the distance as we are less than 50’ from the transmitter/antenna. I have tried every channel/frequency possible. I used the 1/4 plug and I’ve tried the XLR plug. Still has an issue. For a small church this was a good expense but not cheap so we suffered through it for 3 years. Now it’s time to get more as we have grown but it won’t be these which is unfortunate because I’m struggling to find the right thing to replace it and if it wasn’t for the clarity issue, these would be perfect. Unfortunately, to a musician hearing can be a critical piece for them and these can’t be trusted. ... show more
