Update: While the product literature says they are charged when the red light turns off... I have found this to not be the case. The lit. also says a full charge takes five hours. Believe that! Charge for five hours and they will work for four to five hours is what I have found. (Technical note: I use a 20 watt Apple charger. See image for how I charge four units with one charger using: Duttek Multi Micro USB Charging Cable 1.5FT, 4 in 1 Micro USB Splitter Charge Cable, USB 2.0.) I have been using these Xvive U3s for two years. Synopsis: They have never failed me. No drop outs. Great battery life, well built, great sound. Not cheap, but for the money, a great value—way cheaper than "the real thing" (like a Shure Diversity system.) I use 2 sets every Wednesday night for an outdoor open mic (in Florida). The transmitters are plugged into my stage mics (Telefunken M80s). The receivers are plugged into a snake on the stage that is at the performers' feet, so the transmission distance is but a few feet (accordingly, I have no idea the range of these units). But given this configuration, I have never had a drop out and the clarity of the sound is indistinguishable to me from a wired mic—and I'm a stickler for sound quality—hence the Telefunkens when a Shure 58 would do). I set up at five. Generally turn the mics on about six-thirty, and run until ten to ten fifteen. I have never had one of these units run out of juice in this time frame. A couple of times, performers have dropped a mic with one of these units attached or detached a unit which then fell to the floor. Still ticking. (They landed on a thin oriental rug I cover the cement floor with.) Bottom line on construction: Rugged and well built. Brain-dead simple to operate. Just click a button to toggle channels so that receiver and transmitter match. Note: These are the units designed to work with dynamic mics (i.e., won't work with a mic needing phantom power.) Easy to charge—takes a couple hours. No idea how many charge cycles on the batteries, but I am in the neighborhood of a hundred cycles right now. Only beef: Wish the off button had some sort of fail-safe click or locking feature. It is easy to inadvertently leave one of these units on or set it back to on when you think it's off. Then you show up to gig with a dead unit. Going wireless is essential to me in running open mics. With performers getting up and down all night and with the need sometimes to move mics around on stage to accommodate keyboard player/singers, etc., it's a nightmare with cables (and it's unsafe as h.e. double hockey sticks). I generally have one acoustic guitar and a bass running wirelessly as well with the Xvives. No problems with that set up either (the guitar/bass units do run in the 5.8 GHz spectrum.) Buy 'em. • My New Favorite Wireless Microphone System!
The media could not be loaded. I am a singer, and I sing at 80-100 concerts a year. I love a great microphone and I found one but it was wired. I really was looking for an affordable option to have the same mic quality but wireless and I found it with XVive U3. I love this system. From the moment I received it I was impressed with the packaging and the quality. It even came to me charged and ready to go. I used it at 2 concerts on Christmas Day and I must say I was pretty impressed. All I had to do was plug it in and make sure they were both on the same channel and oh there are 6 channels to choose from. Changing the channel was super simple and done by just the press of a button. The sound quality was fantastic. I was very impressed as was my sound guy. There was no delays, no interference, no dead air or dead spots and there is less than 5ms of latency. . It's not only flexible its portable and so easy to just grab and go. When I left my first concert and travelled 3 hours to the next I forgot to turn it off, but when I got there it was still charged and worked great the entire time. This is definitely my new go to microphone system to make my dynamic mic wireless. I love it and can't wait to try out their new wireless in ear monitor system next. ... show more

  • Impressed this singer who always said he'd never go wireless!
It only takes one frustrating experience during a live performance to turn a singer off of wireless for life! I've had more than one over the years, some due to limited range/interference, but mostly batteries dying mid performance. I said I'd never go wireless again. In addition to leading Sunday Worship, I am also fronting a classic rock cover band for fun on the weekends. Our sets are high energy, and we play in a wide variety of settings. Some venues provide plenty of room to move, and I found myself wanting more freedom to cover the stage, engage with my bandmates, and generally bounce around and have a good time! I wasn't thrilled about going wireless, but I also don't need to trip over a mic cable. Also, I LOVE my mic! A wireless mic of comparable quality was going to easily run me $400-500. Last but not least, I use a little pedal to provide some reverb and compression. I was unsure if the wireless setup would play well with my pedal. Then I saw the X-Vive U3! It was getting rave reviews, was priced well, and would let me keep my beloved wired mic. With Amazon's return policies and an upcoming gig, I figured I'd give it a try. Worst case I could return it if it failed to meet expectations. I was/am impressed! Super easy to use and set up out of the box. It's small and sleek, but solidly built. Had about a 40% charge out of the box, and the included double micro-USB cable brought it to 100% quickly. I tested it at home with my pedal and a keyboard amp. Mic --> Transmitter --> Receiver --> Pedal --> XLR cable --> amp. Worked great! At the gig I knew range would not be an issue, since it only need to reach my pedal, which I keep by the monitors at my feet. Sound was outstanding! I observed no latency or signal degradation at all. Most impressive was the battery life. We typically do a 3 hour gig separated into 3 sets with 5-10 minutes between. My intent was to charge the unit between sets, but at the end of the 1st set the LED indicator for 50% power had not yet come on. So I put off the recharge. End of 2nd set, same thing! Still above 50% charge! This little unit went the entire 3 hours and never got below 50%! Amazing! Got another gig coming up, so hopefully we'll see a repeat performance from the U3. ... show more
