Shortly after I wrote this review Yvette from xTool reached out and helps me out with my riser base and sent out an exchange right away. The pass through riser base is only available for purchase on their website. The machine is awesome and very easy to set up and use from xTool’s creative space or lightburn. I have a few lasers and other CNC equipment and this is by far the easiest and produces the best quality of my laser machines. The image quality and speed are pretty amazing! Also, xTool’s customer service is excellent unlike many other laser machine companies. It’s also super fun to use, my other machines are more like using a tool. It’s not a toy for sure but it’s great to have something you look forward to working with! Quick tip, I added clear protective wrap (like 3M’s clear chip guard) to my plastic so it wouldn’t get scratched up or foggy. * Everything was great, except it’s not detailed very well. All the previous reviews point out some features which are mostly as promised, however, the description does not mention the riser (the US version is shown in reviews as the a pass through version for future expansion) is not what I received and is also not noted in the item description requiring another purchase before adding the conveyor unit. Also, previous version had a few more polished finishes also shown in their video promotion and reviews of this product. The chrome detail along the lids hinge area is gone allowing you to see the adhesive strip. I know it’s a small detail but it’s not as shown in the description. I love the machine but it is a little disappointing to see some cost cutting that is so visible. I still love the product just wish it matched the expectations in some of the details. I would rate it higher but didn’t for said reasons. My exception was 5 stars and functionally it has met that. an update from my old review the lightburn software has some workarounds and the beta version will have much better support. Xtool reached out to fix the issues and has been great I now have about 9 hours of operating time and have encountered no other issues. This is being used in an industrial setting and although it may not be the best laser for that it is by far the best value for what we need. The hardware is well made and very nice looking the laser is great and easy to swap out. I would recommend this. ... show more

    • There is a definite learning curve if this is your first machine.

I did have some trouble initially getting this machine set up and get the ventilation system put together. I ended up ordering custom made adapters just for the S1 and that helped. I also watched a lot of videos on YouTube as I am not particularly technologically skilled. It took some time to figure out. The main things I would say is- use paperclips to go through the user manual and clip all the pages in your language. This will make setting up the machine so much easier. Watch YouTube videos. Make sure the table you plan to put the machine on is very sturdy and won't wiggle. Order your window vent, materials, fan, any adapters you need at the same time you order your machine. It took me nearly a month to get everything together because I didn't fully understand what all I needed with regards to ventilation and a surface for the machine. Sharon with xtool was also very helpful with making sure all my problems were resolved, so if you have any questions or problems reach out to customer service. They are very helpful. ... show more

I bought this to replace/augment my Flux Beamo 30w CO2 laser after a less than stellar attempt with a Ceality Falcon. Solid build, great quality of materials from packaging on up. The biggest plus, outside of just a consistently good/high quality output, is the software. Wow! The whole experience for me is very much akin to going from a bargain 3D printer to my Bambu Lab X1C. I consider this and the Bambu like my MacBook Pro; it costs more because it's worth it and it just works. ... show more
