  • I was confused until I stopped reading the instruction manual
Size: 13.3 Inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
This was my first drawing tablet, so I didn't know how to set one up prior. I got confused more than once while reading the instructions, but as soon as I stopped, I got it set up. The tablet seems very good quality. The texture of the screen under the pen is wonderfully satisfying. The default shortcuts on the tablet are very useful for most programs. The buttons on the pen were also very helpful. I only adjusted the buttons to put command z (undo) right next to the other useful shortcuts (super easy to do). The display is also wonderfully vibrant. Upon powering it on, I was instantly impressed. It seems like a perfect first drawing tablet, as it has wonderful quality and is super easy to use. The only struggles I'm having are because I'm trying to use Krita 💀 Easy 5 stars. (Here's a little doodle I did trying to figure stuff out!!) ... show more

  • UPDATED REVIEW - Flickering screen is AWFUL
Size: 11.6 inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
UPDATE 2: After writing my previous update, it dawned on me that I could probably contact the manufacturer and see if they would be willing to replace my defective tablet. So I did that, and after just a few basic troubleshooting emails back and forth, they requested I ship mine to them and they would send me a new one. As soon as they received mine, they sent out the new one with apparently expedited shipping because I received it within 2 days. Works perfectly! So I've adjusted my review BACK to 5 stars, because it really is a great tablet for the price AND the customer service was fantastic. ----- UPDATE: I've had this tablet for several months now and unfortunately I have to change my review. When I bought it, I had an older Mac that just had a lightning connection, so I had to buy an adapter. Not a problem, except the tablet had some flickering issues. I assumed it was due to the cheap adapter I bought and didn't let it affect my review. I've since upgraded my old Mac to a newer PC with a couple of HDMI ports, so I was excited to get rid of the crappy adapter. Well, the tablet is not only still flickering, but it is actually much worse. I have switched the refresh rate as per multiple suggestions on Google, checked all the connections, etc. I'm bummed that it's so far past the return period, otherwise this would go straight back. ----- ORIGINAL REVIEW: I can't believe this tablet is so great at this price. It's a breeze to set up and very comfortable to use. Customising the side buttons is super easy to do even on the fly, and you can set them per application. The pen tracks extremely well and there's only a noticeable drag when you've set the stroke smoothing pretty high. There is also almost zero paralax (the "space" between where your pen touches the screen and the actual art) and the display is a nice matte finish so there's no glare and the pen doesn't slip around much. You don't have to use the glove, I've just found that it helps my hand glide across the tablet easier, but without it, I have not been accidentally pressing buttons or anything. The size is definitely smaller than you think - I wish I'd gotten the larger one! But only because I've discovered that the screen can actually double as a lightbox, which is super handy since I work in both digital and traditional media. The only downside is that the screen flickers occasionally - BUT that might be the cheap lightning connection I bought and not the tablet at all. It's tolerable so I haven't done anything about it yet. There are a lot of cords, but they're well marked and they're a good length - not too long but not restrictively short. Overall, as I said, I'm shocked that a pen display this nice is so inexpensive. I would recommend this to anyone. ... show more

  • Quality, Value, and Compatibility (LINUX!!!!!)
Size: 15.6 Inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
I bought this because I tired of drawing on a small wacom tablet. The price for this package is darn hard to beat! The included stand isn't the greatest in terms of angles, but that's my only gripe (and it's solved with a bamboo desktop sketch easel for $15). The single USB cable to the display is genius, I LOVE the tube holder for the stylus (with extra nibs to boot), overall just a great value for what you get. 15.6 inches is small enough that 1080p resolution isn't really an issue like on a larger display. It cuts down cost, AND processing power which means everything runs more smoothly than when I tried 22" and up. Colors and brightness are more than adequate for the price. I draw and animate as a passion, and hopefully will turn it into a side-hustle someday. Unless you are making 6-figures+ from your art, this is enough. Finally, I just want to THANK XP-Pen for their Linux support. I have grown tired of Windows and it's BS, but the creative apps are almost exclusively there. Yet, when I switched from CSP over to Krita because I noticed the brushes felt more svelte, I realized that I had already done one of the hardest things; switch tools. Whatever worries I had about my hardware (the other battle) went away instantly. I'm on Linux Mint, and all I had to do was go to XP-Pen's website, download the driver package like I would for Windows. Install, restart, and then tweak my settings. Heck, even the shortcut keys hooked up - which was NOT the case when using a Windows 11 Laptop. 10/10, will be sticking with XP-Pen from here out. Massive massive props for the Linux support! Thanks for bringing quality setups to us passionate amateurs who can't afford the Wacom markup!! <3 ... show more

  • Surprisingly good
Size: 15.6 Inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
As someone who has used the Big W brand tablets for over 15 years, I have always hoped that another company would challenge their near monopoly on pen screens. And it has happened. I had a big illustration project and very little time to do it in. As a one person studio, I didn't have the budget for any big name products. This one, however, slipped into that sweet spot of affordability and functionality. Honestly, I'm very impressed. It works so smoothly. No lag. Great pen tracking. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference between this X Pen product and the major competition. I've only given it a four star for a few key reasons. 1) it occasionally stops working with whatever illustration program you are using. Opening up the X Pen app seems to cure that almost immediately. 2) the calibration isn't quite perfect. But it works pretty darn well. 3) the pen tip skates on the surface like a blade on ice. I would much prefer a felt tip option. And lastly, 4) the hover and RMB clicking is fidgety for my older shakey hand. It comes on and disappears too quickly if you move a fraction too far from your original position. That drove me nuts. These concerns may have been addressed by newer models, but I was aiming for price. And I am still very happy with my purchase. Overall I will definitely recommend this as the tablet to use professionally. ... show more
