The XP-PEN Artist drawing tablet received overwhelmingly positive reviews from users, who particularly appreciated its high-quality display, inclination towards versatile customization, and durability. It seems to be an excellent tool for both professional illustrators and hobbyist digital artists. However, some potential downsides were emphasized too, such as the wonky drivers and aesthetically unpleasing multiple cables setup.

  • 💼 Comes with all necessary accessories including gloves, a pen, and plentiful replacement tips, ensuring lasting functionality.
  • 🌐 Abundance of online resources, support, and set up guides available.
  • 🔨 Highly durable with a robust screen protector, ensuring extended longevity even with heavy usage.

Cons

  • 💻 The drivers can occasionally be a bit wonky, although updates usually resolve the issue.
  • 🔌 There are multiple cables involved in the setup, which may detract from the overall aesthetic.
  • 🎚️ The presence of touch power and screen options buttons could potentially lead to issues if the sensors fail.
  • 🌈 The device's color gamut might be slightly off, causing minor discrepancies with the displayed colors.

Should I Buy It?

Based on the reviews, the XP-PEN Artist drawing tablet appears to be an investment that's well worth the price. Its multiple benefits such as its high-quality display, versatile customization, abundance of accessories, and robust durability outweigh the minor cons. Therefore, whether you're a professional illustrator or a casual digital artist, this product seems like an excellent choice.

  • If you're starting out as a digital artist or come from a Ipad pro...
Size: 13.3 Inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
This tablet the 13.3 Pro is amazing, the texture feels amazing and is alot like paper and the pen is very comfortable and very smooth plus the amount of replacement tips for it you get with the tablet is a huge plus. It was very easy to setup, plug into my pc, plug into the wall and then into the tablet and boom just open your favorite art app and get to drawing. The preasure sensitivity is perfect I always hated how hard it was to keep consistent pressure with my iPad but this tablets consistently better with pressure. I use the Profesional paid version of Krita and it allows me to use the keys built into the tablet for tons of useful shortcuts that make my work flow more enjoyable and smoother by alot I didn't know how much of a difference they really make but it makes the IPad feel outdated for art not to mention the fact this tablet is a 13.3 inch means the screens way larger and the brightness is actually a bit brighter (you will have to adjust the brightness when you get it out of the box using the keys by the usb port on the right side of the tablet) I'm going to test it with my android phone (S24 ultra) aswell just for fun but this tablets been amazing and I can't recommend it enough for the price for people with laptops or desktops that want a drawing tablet cheaper then a iPad and better for Profesional art then a iPad Pro, you won't miss the gimics apple has on the Pro like the brush rotate trust me the general experience of this is way ahead of the curve. So far it's feels durable and haven't had a single issue with that the screen feels solid and the tablet has no flex to it, the stand is probably the cheapest feeling part but it's actually very functional for a free stand and is very stable as for software there's not much to talk about as it uses a computer since this is a display. The value for the money is amazing if you're looking for a art tablet to start with or your a professional in need of a cheaper tablet to bring on trips with your laptop this thing is a great choice and has been amazing to draw with! ... show more

  • An Excellent Drawing Experience
Size: 15.6 Inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
I want to start off with stating the fact that I am NOT an artist. I am new to drawing and my review is based on the perspective of a first time user of this kind of product. Before I jumped into the world of screen tablets, I had done a lot of research on what to look for in a screen tablet, that is colors, gamut / sRGB, as well as performance, and in some cases, which seems to be quite subjective, how it "feels" when drawing. After watching dozens of reviews of this and other tablets on YouTube, I settled for the XP-PEN Artist 15.6 Pro because I liked the way it looked and I liked its features such as the programmable buttons and dial, and all of the accessories it came with including a stand, a glove, a many-to-one USB-C cable which helps reduce clutter on my small desk and a programmable pen that doesn't require a battery. I also liked the price at the time of $399 (plus some big discounts I got from Amazon) which really helped since, as a non-artist, I had no idea if I'd be using it beyond a test to see if I liked it. The pen-to-screen performance is very nice, it's responsive and has over 8000 levels of pressure sensitivity, I can just say that it feels pretty "natural" to draw with the pen on this screen. I like it a lot. Also the resistance of the pen-to-screen is really nice. It doesn't feel "slidey" like drawing on a phone or tablet (computer) screen, but it also doesn't feel too rough like drawing on paper. I would say it's closer to paper than a phone screen, but the pen glides well and provides just enough resistance to make it feel natural. The colors are very rich and beautiful. I am seeing color saturation on this screen that my actual monitors don't display, or don't display well. In fact this tablet screen is much nicer than all three of my monitors and I'm sometimes tempted to use it as a fourth screen for general use. It's great that all of this is coming from a single USB-C connection which splits into a USB, USB-Power and HDMI. The tablet itself is surprisingly very very light weight. For a moment I was worried over build quality because when picking it up, it felt "cheap", but once I set it up, including the "cheap" feeling stand that it comes with, it all felt good, very sturdy and in fact it started to feel like a quality product. Being able to easily pick this up with little effort and move it around is actually a nice bonus to me. Don't let the lightness fool you, this is a solidly built product. One of the things I worried a lot about was heat when using a screen on my desk, and close to my face. I find the heat uncomfortable and often times I get sick when it's too warm. This is NOT an issue here, I have yet to feel any noticeable heat dissipation from this tablet. This was a major surprise. I spent hours using this tablet with both the single angle the included stand provides, plus the lack of heat dissipating, and I was pretty comfortable the entire time. And speaking of comfort, it comes with brightness buttons to turn up and down the brightness without sacrificing image quality -- my eyes have adjusted well to about 75%. For an entry level tablet, for someone like me, I would say this is perfect. I am having a lot of fun drawing on this, and this is from someone who does 3D modeling and always avoided 2D drawing. Attached is an original character for my Graphic Novel that I've drawn with this very tablet. It's my first ever drawing with a screen tablet and the first one I've drawn since the 90s, after spending the last two weeks watching drawing tutorials and then applying what I've learned to 2D art. I don't want to imply that non-artists like myself can just pick this up and create something nice right away, but as a 3D modeler, I already have a sense of proportion and perspective, as well as having an eye for lighting and shadowing, so I've applied what already know rather quickly using my 3D model as my base image. For the moment (since I only had this for two weeks), this is a 10/10 quality product that I would 100% recommend to anyone looking to get into digital art. It's great for the entry level person, but I'm sure pros would like this as well. ... show more

  • I was confused until I stopped reading the instruction manual
Size: 13.3 Inch Style: Standard W/ Keys
This was my first drawing tablet, so I didn't know how to set one up prior. I got confused more than once while reading the instructions, but as soon as I stopped, I got it set up. The tablet seems very good quality. The texture of the screen under the pen is wonderfully satisfying. The default shortcuts on the tablet are very useful for most programs. The buttons on the pen were also very helpful. I only adjusted the buttons to put command z (undo) right next to the other useful shortcuts (super easy to do). The display is also wonderfully vibrant. Upon powering it on, I was instantly impressed. It seems like a perfect first drawing tablet, as it has wonderful quality and is super easy to use. The only struggles I'm having are because I'm trying to use Krita 💀 Easy 5 stars. (Here's a little doodle I did trying to figure stuff out!!) ... show more
