Just received this last week and only used once so far, but like some reviews stating having issues getting the battery to charge due to not getting the battery to seat correctly...the battery installed quite easily for me in the controller without the need of doing anything special. I definitely like the vibrating feedback acknowledging the USB cable being plugged in and charging the controller, which was verified by the scrolling charging battery bar on the screen. The included 9' cord is awesome as it easily allowed for me to still sit in my usual spot on the couch to comfortably play while charging using a wall outlet! I used the controller for about 2 hours while plugged in and it sill showed full charge, so the plug and charge feature worked. Also like other reviews, it would've been nice for the Series X charger cord to still have a red/green or red/off light for easier visual reference of it charging, but it's not too difficult to check it on the screen, so for now I can easily give it 4 stars. January 29, 2023 update. I have now run the battery until dead, immediately plugged it in, the controller powered on instantly and after a few hours of playing, I unhooked the charger cord and checked the battery level and it showed full, so the charge and play feature worked great! ... show more

These rechargeable batteries are super easy to install and double the life of using the AA batteries. It's also a huge money saver if you are someone who is going to be gaming on your Xbox quite a bit. If you have bought batteries for these controllers more then 12 times, you have probably already paid what these batteries cost. We got the Xbox One on Day One, and it came with a controller and one of these charge/play batteries. It worked GREAT for a few years, but eventually the battery wore out and the controller broke. So we bought 2 new controllers and 2 of these packs. But neither of them keeps a charge for more than 15 minutes. It's weird and extremely frustrating. We've tried everything, swapping them, cleaning them, charging them from the wall vs the Xbox, etc, etc. Nothing works! And because Microsoft is such a HUGE company with ZERO customer service there's is NO WAY to follow up with them to get support, or a replacement. We have no idea if it's the controllers or the batteries that are bad. We've been forced to either plug them in all the time, or use the AA battery insert. Terrible quality control, and even worse customer service. What a shame. ... show more
