  • 4.5 stars for the right person!
Size: 32G+1TB Color: Standard
The media could not be loaded. If I could give this device a 4.5 rating, I would. For the price and compared to its competitors, the One XPlayer X1 offers a great value. The device is well-built, with a solid tablet and a keyboard that feels well-constructed. However, the touchpad could be improved in terms of quality. It’s smooth but small, and clicking requires excessive force, making it more suitable for tapping rather than clicking. The controllers are a mixed bag. The design is great, they are easy-to-snap-on and the buttons have a satisfying click to them. However, they feel hollow and light, with little resistance from the joysticks. Adding more weight to the controllers could have improved their feel, but the tablet itself is already quite heavy for a handheld device. The display is fantastic, with a fast refresh rate, plenty of brightness, and great colors. The panel is natively portrait, which is disappointing but not a major issue for me. The speakers could be better, but they’re not bad. Good for most tasks but I’m not listening to music through the X1’s speakers. The port selection for this form factor is impressive. It includes two USB-C 4 ports, a USB-A 3.2 port, a MicroSD port, a 3.5mm audio port, and the lesser-known OCUlink port (primarily used for external GPUs but it frees up the USB4 ports in that use case). The performance of this device is excellent. It’s incredibly convenient to adjust the TDP of the device on the fly. I often disable the CPU’s turbo boost, set the TDP to 10W, and adjust the brightness to around 30-40%. This combination provides great performance for light tasks while ensuring good battery life. For gaming, enabling image scalers like FSR significantly improves the performance of AAA games. Ghost of Tsushima runs well on this device and for less demanding games like Balatro and Peglin, I was also able to achieve excellent battery life. I highly recommend this device to individuals who are in the middle of their device choices or those who want to consolidate their portable devices. Perhaps you own or desire an ROG Ally and a Surface Pro; I believe this is a great option for you. Alternatively, if you need something for school but also enjoy gaming, this could be a suitable for you. If you strictly want a handheld for gaming and DON’T prioritize having a portable large screen, I suggest exploring other options, but if you have a mixed-use case scenario like mine, I believe you will be satisfied with the OneXPlayer X1. ... show more

  • Best 3 in 1 out right now
Size: 32G+1TB Color: Standard
Now let me say this device isn’t perfect, but this is the best handheld 3 in 1 solution you can buy right now. I’ve been through a steam deck, rog ally, legion go, and ayaneo flip ds and I can confidentially say this beats them all out due to it’s versatility. It’s convenient having a handheld until you need anything done on windows or just want to use your device to browse the internet or watch something. With this you throw on the keypad like a surface pro and boom problem solved. Connecting external usb is easy too so you can use a mouse instead of the trackpad. The keyboard is sturdy and feels good I just don’t like the trackpad but I don’t care for trackpads in general. This is also a direct competitor to the surface pro and minisforum v3 and it blows the surface pro out of the water as far as price to performance, I would never recommend it over the x1. As far as the minisforum they are very much on par with each other, but with this device you get to have controllers on the side as well. My biggest gripe is the controllers only due to the sticks not being firm enough for my liking and the placement of the right one, but other than that they are great and have Hall effect sticks so no drift. Performance wise you’re gonna get the same as you would on any 7840u and 8840u devices, but the battery life is very nice on this and the screen is amazing I wouldn’t take the vrr screen on the ally over this it just looks too good and tearing is not very noticeable. I also needed help setting the vram and I got help in the OXP discord very quick from the community so it’s nice to know a lot of people care about this device. If you’re considering needing a replacement for a tablet, handheld, or laptop. This is the solution congrats onexplayer you have earned a loyal customer! ... show more

  • Good idea but at this stage not worth the price
Size: 32G+1TB Color: Standard
I wanted to love this but it was disappointing. Screen is great. Form factor is good. Keyboard is fine although would be nice if there was some latching mechanism to keep it closed maybe a magnet in the future . Controllers are very small and flimsy. The left trigger kept activating by itself. If you want to use the right thumb stick your thumb will either have to do some gymnastics or you need to move your hand position. Performance is about the same as rog ally and legion go. Buttons and placement are best on rog ally but the screen is too small. Legion go has cramped controls as well but they are better than x1. It's surprising at this price point not to make a premium controller that is comfortable. Specs are great I think it was a big oversight to have 16gb on go and ally as the GPU uses main memory. That being said in reality it didn't seem to have an impact on the games I played. The software is not good. It didn't detect games. If you closed out it would also close the app linked to the hotkey. Changing resolution in games and device caused some bizarre issues. Games would randomly load like it was a PC from 2001 stuttering and so slow it was brutal. Unsure of the cause. Temps were good. Upgrading the SSD would be a pain vs the x1 mini which has a back plate to easily swap. Lots of odd oversights for the price. Also the defect. I returned it sadly. Maybe the X2 will address these issues. ... show more
