They are lined tight that makes it look like they are sheer where you can see your skin through them but it is actually the lining showing through! Very nice looking. I do think they run a bit big and long. I'm 5'3 and 153 lbs and the medium was too long and large. I am able to wear them but the band comes to the bottom of my bra and I'm still having to pull them up. I'm keeping the mediums as a back up and ordered the small. They are extremely soft on the inside and very comfortable. The first time I put them on backwards and had wrinkles at my ankles. So there is definitely a front and back. I haven't worn them out yet but for a try-on they look and feel wonderful. I ordered XL to attempt avoid them sliding down and having baggy crotch. I'm 5'4" 138lbs.
