  • Sprays Concrete sealer, balance is off, wish it had interchangeable batteries.
We bought this unit to spray our most popular concrete sealer, Sinak S102. When the unit is filled up and fully charged, it works perfectly for this application. The tip spray control allows a perfect fan for application and the pump keeps up beautifully. It's the filling and recharging where this unit could use some polish. When empty, it won't stay upright. Refilling is a balancing act that can end up spilling lots of expensive materials all over the ground. If you don't have someone to hold the unit when filling, it will always fall on it's back until it gets about a half gallon in it. I'm tempted to glue a heavy weight on the front to fix it. The second is the long charging time. It was advertised at 40 gallons per charge, but we're getting closer to 25-30. Once it's dead, you're done for the day, as charging is an overnight process. I wish that it had either a rapid charger, or a way to easily swap out the battery. I think I'm going to rewire it and build a battery harness so that we can have 2 or 3 extra charged batteries so that we can use it all day. This unit was clearly made for spraying herbicides or fertiliser, but it works amazing for sealing concrete sidewalks and other non giant slab applications. The pump works perfectly and sprays a nice even coat. If it wasn't for the unbalanced design and the lack of interchangeable batteries, I'd have given it a full 5 stars. ... show more

  • Three year review - Pretty good w/some flaws.
My three year review. Pretty good sprayer but it has some design flaws. But first, when I bought mine back on 4-11-2018 it was branded PSE (Precision Spray Equipment) but it looked the same as this Workhorse. Well, it's been three years and the battery is dead and will not take a charge. The original listing then said it had a lithium-ion battery, but that was false. It had a lead-acid battery (12v5Ah 6FM5). It was easy to replace. The unit is top heavy when empty and falls over easily. But when filled even a little it stands OK. The coiled hose is way too rigged and can only be extended a little. It also could use larger diameter wheels. ... show more

  • Pretty good
I've used it a few times now. I agree with previous reviewers that it would be better if the hose wasn't coiled so tightly and that it balanced at all when not filled. It falls over when it is not filled. It needs the weight of the fluid contents to be stable and not fall over. The battery does last a long time. It's easy to control the spray. It's a little hard to rinse out after use...I'd like an easier way to dump the contents other than lifting it up and turning it upside down...a stop cock near the bottom would be great. All told, though, it's so much easier to use than the pump sprayer it replaced. ... show more

  • works ok
The unit seems to perform well enough. I don't care much for the coil hose. I was disappointed that out of the box the unit did not function. Required a phone call and disassembly to find out the switch was bad. More phone calls to get the switch replacement 2 weeks later then more work to install new switch. With that as the background I'm a little tentative about the unit. ... show more

  • Could Be Improved
like others, I found the coiled hose to be too stiff. Its nine foot length is deceiving because to extend it that far results in the sprayer being overturn. I use the sprayer over rough terrain, and I found the wheels to be too small and spaced to close together. I replace the axial with a longer one and installed 10-inch wheels. It maneuvers much better now. I do like the sprayer's power. It allows me to spray at greater distance the heights than my previous sprayer. It has been particularly useful for saturation spraying the trunks of pine trees for pine bark beetles. My battery stopped charging after a couple of uses, but Barndoor Ag sent me a replacement battery at no charge. It has been working fine now. ... show more

  • Should be better for Price
The spray puts out very fast so one needs to move fast so as not to over saturate. It does not mist all that well, certainly not as well as a pump sprayer. It rolls pretty well considering it is being pulled through flower beds and grass. When it is empty or just holding a gallon of ingredient, it will topple over, so best to prop it up against a wall when not in use. The hose is far too stiff and far too short. This is too bad because a better hose seems like an easy fix this company could make. I guess I can find a more flexible hose and a more efficient spray nozzle, but for the price I paid, it rubs me the wrong way to have to. Anyway, I like the sprayer mostly because I have had three back operations and cannot use a pump sprayer, although with a pump sprayer I have much more control over the amount sprayed and am able to get a very fine mist, which one cannot get so well with the Workhorse. If you have a good back, just stick to the your old-fashioned pump sprayer and consider it exercise which we all need more of. ... show more

  • Wonderful customer relations
I feel horrible!!! I wrote a bad review for sprayer before I took the time to call the company. I was greeted by a very nice lady that said they would send a battery right out at no charge because the sprayer has a year warranty, she even talked me thought the very simple steps to instal the new battery. The 4 times I used the sprayer it was just what I wanted, great battery life, spray that reached the top of my apple trees and so very easy to pull, but then it stopped working. Amazon said I only had a month to return so I thought I was out my $169, not happy. I then realized I should call the company and was so pleased with the results. I hope you read this review before you make judgment on the product. ... show more

  • They only last a year or 2.
This is my second workhorse of this model and i have owned the "clones" that other companies sell, they all break in a variety of ways. The pumps break, the batteries fail, the switch breaks, holes wear in the bottom plastic if you use in a greenhouse with cement walkways, and gravel can puncture it. First thing i have learned to do is duct tape the bottom to prevent the plastic body from touching the ground. Also the new model doesnt have the coiled hose as shown, it has a goodyear rubber hose which doesnt coil, and is TOO SHORT. All this junk quality and the price keeps going up, it is too bad you cant find a better one... just the same chinese clones that break. ... show more
