On initial inspection of these pergola brackets, I was quite pleased. They are very solid and finished extremely well. The exterior paint finish is very thick and well cured. This should absolutely have no issues holding up outside for many years. And the bracket openings themselves are their true, 3.5 inch opening. Please note that these are tighter spec - so you will likely need to measure and find a nice dried 4 x 4 as uncured word might not fit and will require some sanding. Included bolts are middle of the road however should be more than strong enough for pergola. These really make building a pergola, super easy and fast. You’re really able to get something put together easily within a weekend. Really happy with these Pergola brackets. Really good quality, easy to use, and it’s way cheaper than having someone build a pergola for you. I would absolutely recommend! ... show more

There are lots of pergola gazebo solutions out there, some cost thousands, if not tens of thousands. Many of them are quite fancy, but if all you need is a simple one, this Likeem bracket kit can be a good solution for you. All you need is to go buy eight 4x4 lumber, and within a few hours, you will be able to get a free standing pergola/gazebo frame up. After that, you just need to find a right sized "sail shade" that you can hook to these corner piece and you are done. Pretty simple and straight forward. These corn pieces certain feel strong and heavy duty. They are nicely finished. This kit comes with weatherproof screws too. The only thing I would have hoped is that it come with the bases. The cost of this package is more than reasonable. I had seen comparable products/systems that cost a few hundred dollars just for 1 corner piece. The brackets themselves are attractive, sturdy, and well-made. A standard commercial 4x4 fits well (3.5"x3.5"), but I decided to use treated lumber which required a little bit of trimming and huffing and puffing to slide in. The lag bolts were a bit disappointing (kind of shorter than I would like, and I would prefer them in black so they match the brackets, also, not as strong as I would usually use) so I bought some beefier lag bolts in black from the closest big box hardware store. The end result looks sharp (my pergola is 8'x10'x8') and I'm curious to see how it handles a Western New York winter. Overall, I give the bracket kit four stars. ... show more

I would give these 5 stars but my posts were slightly too large for the bracket so I had to deal with an extra step of shaving some material off of the ends of the posts for a nice snug fit. I will say, it's better for them to be snug than fit loosely. The fit would have probably been better if I used 4x4's that had some time to dry and shrink. I ordered this set with a couple of different projects in mind depending on how well I found they were made. When they showed up the first thing my son commented on was how heavy the box was that it came in! These are solid and well made with what I would consider medium strength metal (my own rating system based on 50 years of experience). I wouldn't overload these brackets but for a pergola or something like that they will work just fine. I have been actually looking at using them to build a deer stand and for that sort of work I think it will work perfectly. Each hole fits a 4x4 just about right and the provided bolts are good enough to hold the beams in place. Overall, I would say that these seem to be pretty good brackets and based on first impressions I feel that I can recommend them to anyone who is looking for something like this. With that said, time is the real test and if this one proves to be not as good as I thought, I will be sure to come back on and update my review. ... show more

These brackets are really good looking and very sturdy. They are definitely structurally sound. Although you can build a corner joint relatively easy it’s not as easy to make the joint look both stable and ascetically pleasing. These brackets accomplish both while simplifying the entire process. Combined with some additional structural steel components they will look great on any gazebo and particularly good on an open gable end style structure where your framing is exposed. The one thing I don’t like about this set is the short lag bolts that are included. I would prefer lag bolts that are longer but also lags that are black and match the brackets. ... show more

These brackets can be quite pricey. The metal is pretty thick and heavy duty feeling. The welds look very well done and even. They fit nicely into 4X4 posts. I do wish they came with hardware in black to match so it will be less visible and also It would be nice if they came with flat washer with lock washers.
