These are fair rules, I don't expect Woodpecker accuracy for rules a small fraction of the price of Woodpecker, I hoped for better than this. There is about 1/16 inch variation between them. I'm not sure which are off yet, I only tried them against each other. If two of them turn out to have 1/32 or so accuracy after I check them later, I keep them. If two of them are bad, I return them. A 1/32 inch accuracy is smaller than most marking mistakes so demanding closer than that isn't rational. While I like good rulers I don't have that Woodpecker fetish. ... show more

This is a reasonably nice set of rulers. Three lengths: 7”, 9” and 13”, all 1” wide and 1/8” thick. Red anodized aluminum alloy with easy to read markings. One side is marked in inches, either 1/16” or 1/32” graduations while the other is inches and centimeters. The sliding block can be locked anywhere along the length of the ruler, and the notch on the end of the ruler will hold a pencil tip to make a marking gauge. Sliding blocks can also be removed if you need just a ruler or straightedge. Rectangular cutout in the ruler could be used to hang the ruler, although the packaging that these arrive in with the cutout foam is likely where I will store these. The “zero” end of the ruler is roughly at the end of the ruler. The markings then go to x.5” with another half inch to the end. I use other rulers with the markings don’t go to the ends of the ruler and I find that preferable for measuring lengths. I can see exactly were the “zero” starts and don’t need to worry that the end of the ruler has been damaged over the years affecting the measurement accuracy. I do have other rulers where the “zero” is lined up exactly to the end of the ruler. You can push the ruler up against something and then measure the lengths from there. Both sorts of rulers have their place. The issue I have with these rulers is that the “zero” point does not line up exactly at the end of the ruler. The ruler is perhaps 1/32” longer. If you butt the ruler up against something to make a measurement, it’s going to be off by roughly that amount. However, that’s also the side that has the notch, so putting a pencil tip into there might get the tip to the zero point. I suspect that eventually I’ll shorten the rulers to get the zero point to line up perfectly with the end of the ruler. Only issue with that is I’m removing the anodized coating and that end will show the bare aluminum. This is a nice set of rulers, but do understand how these are marked to determine if they’ll work for you. ... show more
