Very cute design. 3 chambers, dark color for cooler area that I live in. Hanging on east facing side about 12 feet up as suggested, haven't seen any bats yet but it's new. The kids think it's really cool.

I have been wanting to build a bat house for a while but decided I would never get to it. So I ordered this. Mine came with one of the baffles warped but I don't think that should affect it. Still waiting on bats though. It looks good on my front porch.

For the life of me I can't understand why you would build an outdoor item out of plywood. The entire bat box is is solid wood except the back panel which is plywood. (see photo) Why change one part of a structure to an inferior wood? If you look at some of the reviews the plywood layers are separating from being outdoors for just a short time. I love this design so much I am going to tear off the back plywood panel and replace it with a solid wood panel. I am a handyman so this will be a simple task for me.
