This is excellent wire. It is the 2nd time I have purchased the 4 AWG wire. I have also purchased the 2 AWG wire. It has a soft tough outer coating, is very flexible and is of very high quality. I have been using to for wiring up my solar batteries to the bus bars and the 2 AWG from the bus bars to the 50 amp inverters. I highly recommend it. Don't skimp on the cheaper wire with the slick plastic coating. The last thing you need is a fire because you wanted to save a few dollars. ... show more

    • Great wire.... bad dimensional chart! Don't believe the conductor diameter specs!

I bought this 8AWG cable partially based on the chart the seller shows in the pictures.. showing the diameter of the conductor being 0.129". I am using it with an Anderson Connector whose crimp pin ferrules have an I.D. of ~0.136". Stripping the insulation and trying to insert the wire I find there's no way... this conductor is 0.150" ! That's great for carrying high current.. but not so great when it won't fit the crimp pins. I had to drill out the crimp pins with an 11/64" drill bit. Fortunately the walls on the crimp pin ferrules are thick enough that I can bore out this much copper. After that everything was good. I had to deduct 1 star for the bad dimensional representation by the seller... otherwise, great stuff. ... show more

This wire is great. Very flexible with many strands. I ordered both red and black in 20 foot lengths. The black wire shipped from Amazon, the red from Windy Nation. The black arrived first, the red a day or two later. I noticed the red did not feel as heavy as the black roll of wire had. Sure enough it was 15', not 20. I contacted Windy Nation directly via email, as it had shipped from them. They were very prompt in there reply stating they were shipping a new roll of 20' and included a prepaid return label to ship the incorrect wire back. Awesome. New wire arrived a few days later, but wouldn't you know, it was also 15'. Contacted Windy Nation again, and again they were very prompt in their reply. They were very apologetic, and reshipped the correct length, which arrived a couple of days later. Costumer service is awesome, shipping, not so much, but hey, everyone makes mistakes. Not everyone corrects it, Windy Nation did. Great wire, great company. ... show more
