  • I'm saddened that Nokia would ruin such a great device with a terrible app.
The scale is awesome. Buy it if you are ready to make good things happen with your Apple Health App. The accompanying app from Nokia ('Health Mate') is __flatly terrible__. I am disappointed with the sheer lack of features in the iOS application, as well as the terrible app quality. Here's on example: I had to create an app account just to connect my scale, but the app failed in the middle of the initial setup (I had to guess that the scale needed a firmware update), and then the app had to be initialized with the scale again... which created two identical users. I am still not able to delete the 2nd user from the dashboard in my app, and I have no way of elevating my wife's profile in the app so that she can record her weight from the scale. Another example: You cannot delete users from the app dashboard. It seems that you can only create them (forget trying to correct their name, BTW). To get rid of an unwanted user: log out, and then start a new account. ... show more

  • Great scale and I'm finally able to sync my weight metrics to Garmin
I've had this scale over two years now and it's awesome. One of the nicest features is that I don't have to have my phone open when I want to use it (some of the cheaper smart scales require it). I'm pretty tied to the Garmin ecosystem so originally I was considering getting the Index scale, but I read a bunch of negative reviews. I used to sync my weight from Withings to MyFitnessPal and then to Garmin but this stopped working so now I use smartscalesync.com It's a subscription service but it lets me send all of the data from my Withings scale (weight, body fat, water %, muscle mass, and bone mass) whereas MFP only sent my weight. ... show more

  • Beat all my expectations. The first "smart" product that has been worth it for me
To be honest, buying a smart scale seemed like I was being conned into some weird consumerist trap, but this thing blew away my expectations. As someone who tries to stay in shape and runs/bikes etc pretty regularly, I am used to tracking data about distance, effort, HR, etc. Adding a no-effort or data entry way to get my weight, water % and muscle mass % data into my fitness ecosystem really made a big difference in my training and daily life. The Withings/Nokia app syncs up with Apple Healthkit, so ALL of my other fitness apps get the benefit of reading the scale's data and adjusting accordingly. For example, my Garmin watch and Strava App are always up to date for suffer score and effort calculations because it knows my exact body weight + heart rate, vs what used to be a static entry that I would update every 6 months or so. I learned a lot about myself too in regards to hydration and how much my weight fluctuates due to what I eat (ie. high salt content) etc. Highly recommend purchasing. Really worth the money in my opinion. ... show more

  • Fantastic Smart Scale. Perfect. Thanks for thinking this out when no other company has.
Perfection in a smart scale. Well done Withings, you got it right. Firstly, and most importantly, this scale produces reproducible weight measurements. If you step off and step back on, the weight taken is exactly the same. I returned two highly reviewed smart scales to Amazon because they couldn't get this right... It syncs with Apple and MyFitnessPal, and probably a host of other phone brands/apps I haven't tried. It works over WiFi and directly sends my weight results directly to my apps. I don't have to turn on bluetooth, open my phone, etc. etc. Very convenient. It knows whether it's me, my wife, or my son taking our weight. It also knows the weather, which has become part of the daily ritual to check using the scale in the morning. I don't really pay attention to BMI or the other measurements on the daily, but they're nice to track over time to see if they're moving towards a healthy direction. What's nice is that I can program what is displayed when I step on the scale, and in which order, vs. what data is passively entered into my app for long term tracking. It's a great scale, well worth the price. (The only thing that doesn't make sense to me is the CO2 sensor. Since when do you need to monitor CO2 levels in your house? Not buying that it's a useful number... If it would measure CO or Radon I'd consider it useful, but who cares about CO2?) ... show more

  • Very poor foot design. Makes the scale not usable.
I purchased this scale on May 10th and it has not been of much use for me. The problem is the feet, or little plastic knobs on the bottom. I have hardwood flooring in my bathrooms and the scale would slide when I'd step onto it... not very safe. Well they are too small to use on a carpet, they sink in and the scale is very inaccurate. Well Withings solution is to include small button feet that stick to the little knobs that increase contact area by 4 to 5 times. This idea I guess is that with increased surface area that would correct the problem... well it doesn't. The scale is still inaccurate on carpet. If I weigh myself on both carpet and then on a hard surface, my weight varies up to 10 pounds. And with the small buttons added it still slides on my hardwood flooring. A simple fix would be to include some sort of cork or rubberized pads for the feet (knobs or buttons) with an adhesive backing, then the scale would not slide on hard surfaces. I bought this scale to replace a Weight Watchers biometric with no Wifi or Bluetooth, which I'd already given to a friend. Big mistake I'd have to say because with that scale I was able to accurately weigh myself daily and now I am stuck with a scale that I can't use, and so have stopped a very important part of my daily routine. The Weight Watchers scale was half the price. I could and would give this scale a better rating if it did not have this problem and then could be shown to be accurate. But as it is, I have no clue if it is accurate in the least, even consistent in its inaccuracy. ... show more
