ok first of all these things rock!! they are not the big expensive name brand rod holders however they are the best rod holders you will ever find at such an awesomely low price. I personally cannot see spending hundreds of dollars on name brand rod holders when these rod holders work at a pro level quality. features: -can turn and lock into place just about anywhere you need. (360 degrees) -has a rod lock on the top so the big one doesn't take your rod -can adjust the angle your rod sits up in the holder -can easily take rod holder off to put boat cover on without any problems -can install anywhere!! I put it on a thin wall on my fiberglass boat with screw anchors and it holds very well -very durable I have had these puppies thrown around a bit as me and the boys go fishing all the time. ... show more

Good for the price. Should work well. I bought an aluminum Jon boat and wanted to mount fishing rod holders. These were economical and looked good. They arrived on time and were well packaged. The parts fit stiffly together. These are not as well constructed as the two that I originally bought from another manufacturer, but they are half the price. When you want to put 6 fishing rod holders on a boat and stay within your budget, these will work. If you have a lot of funds, buy the best. I've just ordered a second pair of these rod holders because I can't build them as cheaply as I can buy these. These are heavy duty rod holders that will swivel so that your rod angle can be set to whatever your preference is. Rods can be locked in so that you won't lose them overboard in case a strike happens while you're not paying attention. There have been all sorts of complaints about these rod holders ranging from "cheaply made," which is not true to "won't swivel easily" which doesn't apply to the set I received. All you do is pull them up and twist then push them down. It couldn't be much simpler or easier than that. They're a little stiff because they're new but I'm sure they'll loosen up a bit with some use. They're not carbon fiber as are some of the more expensive rod holders, but they don't need to be. They seem to be made of a heavy duty rubberized plastic that likely will last as long as I do. Additional mounts are available here on Amazon but if you buy two, they cost as much as the two-rodholder package which includes mounts. I paid a little over $7 for each rodholder and mount from the Amazon Warehouse. While the elitists may want to pay four to six times as much for the fancy carbon fiber rod holders, that's their prerogative but they're not gonna get too much better than these rod holders regardless of what they pay. Pole holders work great for my kayak I don't know if I would put them on a nice fishing boat because they are a little rough made but function just fine and are a great bang for the buck I love that you get two for the price of a typical one!

For the price it is good. What I do like is that they have many position settings to choose from. What I do not like is that they are big and bulky. They work great, that is true, but to change a position you much pull up on the holder and that is not easily done even with two hands. These are a very nice set of fishing rod holders. I purchased these recently along with some other items for my aluminum boat. I mounted them on top with the side mount hardware that they come with. They also offer the flush mount type if preferred. Mounting was very easy and they operate very well. Allows you to remove the holder from the mount and relocate the holder to any other area of the boat where another mount is located. I searched other places like Ebay, Iboats, and other marine websites and the price here at Amazon was the most reasonable. ... show more
