  • A near-perfect alternative
Color: BLACK
So here's what you need to know: This is essentially a near-perfect copy of the old official Xbox 360 controller. The dimensions are the same. The buttons feel the same. The sticks feel the same. The battery compartment is identical and it works with rechargeable packs meant for the first-party controller. It connects to the PC wireless Xbox 360 controller receiver (but does NOT have Bluetooth; You need the receiver to use this with PC) and it is mapped as an Xinput device so it works perfectly with all your recent PC games right out of the box. I even weighed the two controllers. They weigh exactly the same (7.4 ounces) so it's a pretty good bet they have the same or nearly identical parts inside. Control feels good. Buttons are responsive. There are only a couple minor differences between this and the official controller. First, obviously the Astarry doesn't have the Xbox branding on it (no X on the Home button, and no Xbox 360 logo on top. There is a space for the holograph, too, but of course there isn't a holograph on the Astarry). Second, the Home button light blinks in a pattern instead of staying on steadily when paired. That's it. I love the controller. It's everything I hoped it would be, which is to say I wanted an Xbox 360 controller that was like the official one, but for the lowest price possible, and this is as close as you're going to get with that goal. It's fantastic. I was a bit sad that the blue one is more expensive than the black one. I would have liked blue, but I can't see paying more money for a different color. It should be noted that this doesn't come with the PC receiver for Xbox 360 controllers. That's sold separately. I have two of them myself; One's an official one, and the other is a cheap knock-off, and both of them work with this controller. I do not have an Xbox 360 anymore, so I can't test this on the console, but I assume that since it connects wirelessly with the receiver that it will also connect to the Xbox 360 without a problem. Unfortunately, these are such perfect replicas of the original Xbox 360 controllers that they also inherited two of the Xbox 360 controller's well-known issues: First, the analog sticks are super-sensitive, which makes delicate movements in some games hard, requiring you to set up low sensitivity in game or widen dead-zones with third-party software. Second, the D-pad is an 8-way disc-style pad instead of an inlaid cross. This means that occasionally you might find yourself pressing left or right when you mean to be pressing down or up. This requires getting used to the controller's design, but it's not a "flaw"-- It's just how Microsoft designed the original, and it's what's replicated here. If you're looking for a low-cost alternative to the official controller, this is your best choice. I'm not just saying that, either. This really is an excellent third-party controller. Five stars, as long as you understand what you're getting. ... show more

  • good for price
Color: BLUE
My old two 360 controllers had went their course and i opted to get an inexpensive controller to replace them. I only played with it for a few hours so far and see no major issues. There are little things you get with an generic brand controller, no X on the home button (not a big deal) The D pad is a tad too sensitive compared to the authentic controller but games rarely utilize the D pad for anything important. Joy sticks feel ok and respond ok. The RB and LB buttons click when you press them, this can be a little irritating at first but you don't think about it after your in the game. For half the price of a authentic 360 controller it is not that bad. If you just dabble with the 360 once in a while for a game that is not backwards with the xbox one then this controller is for you. If you play the 360 frequently then i suggest you might want to spend the extra 30 and get a authentic controller for longevity. ... show more

  • A good stand-in
Color: BLACK
Obviously this isn't an official Microsoft XBox Controller, but it's the best stand-in I've had so far. I previously purchased a Voyee brand controller and experienced ticks with it immediately, like wandering joystick motions, random controller power-offs, etc. No such problems with this controller. It connected to my 360 immediately and all the buttons work the way they're supposed to. A simple tap to the power button switches the controller on, and though it won't power-up the console, you can shut it down the way you would with an actual 360 controller. This wireless controller includes a receiver (which plugs into either of the console's USB ports) but though I've not tested its signal distance, I haven't experienced any interference or lag between controller action and game action. The joystick action is smooth, the button and trigger actions are smooth, and the controller actually feels a bit lighter than an actual Microsoft controller. It requires two AA batteries, so you might want to consider using rechargeable batteries for extensive playing. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it for those looking for an affordable and effective replacement controller. ... show more

  • Great controler for th emoney
Color: BLACK
So, I am not a controller person, I usually play PC keyboard and mouse. I started playing Eldin Ring with my brother and using a keyboard and mouse is not the best way to play that game. I didn't want to spend a lot to play a game I wasn't sure I would get into. I found this controller for a fair price and I gave it a shot. So far this controller feels really solid and plays nice. If I didn't know it wasn't an original Xbox controller I wouldn't be able to tell. So, if it fails me in the next 6 months it won't bother me too much, but I hope it doesn't fail. ... show more

  • Constantly disconnects mid-game
Color: BLACK
Sometimes it will stay connected for hours at a time but most days the connection will freeze a couple times an hour. The only correction I've found is to unplug it and plug it back in again. Kind of worthless for a wireless controller. Even that fix often only works for a few minutes, long enough for me to sit back down again before the connection fails again. Very frustrating. I can't figure out what makes it happen, it seems completely random and unrelated to activity, distance, or other wireless signals in the area. In detail, the ring light on the controller starts blinking and the light on the receiver goes solid. At this point the controller stops responding to any input. Some games recognize this as a disconnect and pause the game. Others, such as online games, simply let you sit there and die, not exactly a fun experience. Unplugging the receiver and immediately plugging it back in causes the controller to reconnect, this works every time. However, while this new connection sometimes lasts for hours, it sometimes lasts an hour, 5 mins, or even 5 seconds. Some days the connection is so spotty that it is completely unusable. Would recommend skipping this one. ... show more
